The brand is manufactured in the same space where it is designed at our facility in Vienna, Virginia. The Senior Pattern Maker is a core member of the design team guiding each seasonal collection from 1st pattern through production ready patterns.
Essential Responsibilities for each seasonal collection:
- Supervise and provide mentorship to the Pattern Maker, Technical Designer and Sample Maker
- Collaborate closely with design team to interpret design concepts and translate them into functional and production-ready patterns.
- Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to patterns to achieve desired fit and style, considering factors such as fabric properties and garment functionality
- Maintain accurate documentation of patterns, including specifications, grading rules, and any modifications made throughout the development process
The Senior Pattern Maker should be a leader able to guide the design team offering direction, communicating expectations, delivering constructive feedback, and empowering team members to achieve their highest potential. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a desire to lead, problem solve, a high level of organization, and attention to the finest of details.
Experience & Skills:
- A bachelor's degree or a combination of experience in fashion design or apparel/textile manufacturing
- 10 years of lingerie/stretch/active wear pattern making
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction techniques, including draping, flat pattern making, and grading
- Conducting fittings and making adjustments to patterns to achieve desired fit and style
- Highly proficient in pattern making and grading with Gerber Accumark
- Ability to make simple markers in Gerber Accumark
- Experience with PLM software is a plus (we use Yunique PLM)
- Proficient with computers and other software (we use Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and Adobe software)
- A minimum of 2 years supervising others
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Position is full-time on-site - 40 hours per week/Monday-Friday
- Able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time.
- Able to move about a production floor and machinery walking, bending, and reaching 40% of the time.
- Observe details at close range.
- Handle, inspect, measure, and manipulate garments.
- Occasionally lift up to 40lbs.
- Perform work in a factory and warehouse environment
