Principal Process Engineer - (1809268)
The Principal Process Engineer will lead studies, FEEDs and/or projects and will be responsible for producing process design packages. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling and estimating the work effort and will advise and mentor within the department in order to contribute to the improvement of a technical area.
Performs detailed process design calculations and process design simulations, prepares equipment and instrument data sheets, prepares process flow diagrams, and prepares piping and instrument flow diagrams
Trains subordinates in the use of process tools and procedures
Leads various activities related to the process design of specific process units and supervises work efforts on small projects and proposals
Reviews design work of subordinate process engineers as delegated by the lead engineer
Participates in start-up and technical service field assignments as required
Performs other assignments as required
Responsible for leading projects, FEEDs and studies
Ability to supervise team members and to advise and mentor in areas of expertise if necessary
Creates new or existing technology improvements (i.e., patent)
Creates new or improved work processes for better execution efficiency
Publishes or presents a technical paper at an industry forum
Presents at conferences and trade shows, customer meetings and internal presentations
Clearly articulates technical knowledge to others including colleagues, management and clients
Actively involved in professional organizations and continuing education initiatives
Takes initiative in making decisions within established procedures and guidelines
Provides leadership role when guidance and expertise are required
Works with industry groups and has a working knowledge of industry specifications and standards
Uses the principals of Quality as an integral part of the work process including CMS
Leads continuous improvement of technical and work processes
Maintains a record of creative contributions
Opinion is sought in area of specialty
Recognized expertise in at least one technology
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equiv.
Minimum 15 years relevant experience in the offshore industry, FPSO, Topsides, Subsea, Umbilical, etc.
Experience in process design and analysis providing complex deliverables such as conceptual process design, process simulations, heat and material datasheets, P&ID and PFD development.
Supervision experience of a process team is required for this position.
