Job Description: Warehouse/Truck Driver
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Warehouse/Truck Driver to join our team. This position involves a blend of driving and warehouse responsibilities, ensuring efficient operations and timely deliveries. Below are the key duties and expectations for this role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Deliveries: Execute daily deliveries as specified by Parts Manager. Note that deliveries are not guaranteed daily; in such cases, you will be assigned warehouse tasks.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload deliveries as needed. When a delivery arrives at the warehouse, you are required to pause current tasks to assist with the delivery process.
- Parts Manager Backup: Learn areas of the Parts Manager’s role to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly in their absence, preventing any operational errors.
- Company Representation: While driving a company-branded vehicle, represent the company responsibly and professionally at all times.
- Parts Pickup: Pick up parts from various retailers and vendors as needed.
- Tool and Machine Responsibility: Warehouse personnel are responsible for any instances of damage, loss, or theft of tools or machines used within the warehouse. They will be held accountable for tools or machines that are lost, stolen, or damaged due to negligence or misuse.
- Personal Device Policy: Personal cell phones, headphones, smartwatches, and other Bluetooth or Wi-Fi-enabled devices are allowed on-site, but we ask that their use is limited and only when appropriate.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors to support warehouse operations.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Unload and sweep the truck, then reload for the next day's deliveries.
- Spot clean all vehicles daily and as needed; detail all shop vehicles weekly.
- Maintain shop vehicles daily and fuel all company vehicles at the end of each day.
- Perform weekly cleaning of all shop vehicles.
- Check fluids in warehouse vehicles daily, including forklifts.
Warehouse Maintenance:
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, including daily sweeping and weekly mopping of floors.
- Assist other warehouse personnel with maintenance tasks as needed.
- Conduct a morning perimeter sweep for metal and other debris.
- Collect office trash at the end of each day.
- Stock all bathrooms and spot clean as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass the DOT physical if not already certified.
- Forklift certification (training provided if not already obtained).
- Must pass a drug and background check.
- Adherence to a set schedule, with potential for overtime as warranted and approved.
- Flexibility to prioritize deliveries and warehouse duties as necessary.
