The Customer Service Representative continuously strives to improve service levels through effective customer communication, problem solving and order fulfillment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work directly with customers via phone and email to fulfill requests and assist with issue resolution.
Process customer transactions, including order entry, order updates, returns and credits.
Collaborate with shipping, planning, production and account managers to anticipate concerns and ensure on time order delivery.
Utilize reporting tools to monitor open orders and proactively resolve order fulfillment risks.
Provide accurate information regarding price and availability.
Document customer and internal complaints in Sensient CRM Database.
Working knowledge of JD Edwards, customer pricing, order flow, product data and shipping procedures.
Create and maintain master data related to customer master files, special instruction text and cross reference codes.
Participate and/or facilitate progress towards the goal of constant improvement.
Train and serve as back up to all other Customer Service staff when necessary.
Adhere to company policies / procedures.
Perform other functions as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong communication skills, including ability to capture the detail of a situation and communicate accurately, professionally and completely, verbally and in writing.
Ability to multitask while maintaining high degree of attention to detail, accuracy and poise under pressure.
Effective time management and organization skills imperative.
Knowledge of export documentation, as well as domestic regulations, policies and procedures.
Intermediate proficiency in JDE and working in a Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, Power Point).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree is required (Science field of study is preferred).
At least 3 years of customer service experience at an intermediate level is required.
Professional verbal, written and phone communication skills.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is in a professional office environment.
Periodical exposure to warehouse and manufacturing plant conditions.
