The Business Analyst – Measurement Applications, will provide support to applications critical to the MPLX measurement team; applies expert-level knowledge and technical skills in planning and managing measurement applications from a gas and liquids measurement point of view; offers innovative alternatives to meet measurement/business requirements; coordinates with IT to ensure measurement end-user system requirements and reports function as designed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with updating documentation including SOP’s used to ensure internal controls and provides suggestions on ways to improve efficiencies.
Troubleshoot complex problems that include technical/functional system issues.
Work collaboratively with business owners to understand, document and formalize detailed system requirements. Work with business teams to clarify system capabilities, application requirements, testing, procedural needs and priorities within the department.
Manage multiple process improvement projects simultaneously.
Develop and maintain Crystal reports to support business needs.
Maintain successful business relationships with other departments and vendors.
Occasionally train users on the use of measurement applications and product enhancements.
Work successfully in a team environment.
May direct and oversee MPLX personnel and contractor’s specific to assigned projects.
High school degree (or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task.
Ability to work in both a collaborative team and individual environment.
Ability to shift focus and comfortably cope with change.
Ability to organize and manage work according to deadlines.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
3+ years of experience developing, supporting, managing and implementing enterprise-wide computer systems, preferably including Oracle or SQL databases.
3+ years of experience writing SQL queries against complex data structures.
3+ years of experience developing Crystal reports.
Experience in use of Flow-Cal or similar products, including but not limited to TESTit, PROVEit and PYCit applications. FLOWcloud experience a plus.
Understanding of gas and liquid measurement.
Knowledge of IT computer networks, cloud systems and security.
IT troubleshooting experience.
