Summary of Position:
The Manager, External Relations is full-time position reporting to the Director, External Relations and work in collaboration with focal points from across program teams, as well as finance & administration and legal affairs. This role supports the organization’s priority to build and increase funding.
This is an especially exciting time at Women Deliver, as we are in a replenishment period, fundraising for our 2021-2025 Strategic Framework, as well as actively mobilizing resources through grants and sponsorship for the Women Deliver 2023 Conference(WD2023). The role will work to strengthen the organization’s ability to engage with and support prospective and current partners across all funding streams, with an emphasis on ODA governments and foundations.
The Manager, External Relations Role will support the Director, External Relations on pitching, funding submissions, and stewardship efforts for all donor relationships, with an emphasis on core and programmatic multi-year support. In addition to mobilizing resources for Women Deliver’s ongoing programs, this role will support the Director to will work to secure and steward grants and sponsorshipsfor the Women Deliver 2023 Conference.
Accountabilities:
- Support day to day stewardship of key institutional partners
- Support processes for all pitching and submissions (including concept notes, proposals, and reports), while ensuring multi-team processes are efficient, inclusive, and timely
- Engage with funding partners through all phases of the funding cycle and represent the organization as needed at meetings, conferences, events, etc.
- Support tracking funding gaps and, with support of communications focal point, develop compelling and targeted collateral to promote and clearly outline funding opportunities
- Work with all program teams, using a program quality framework, to determine areas of investment within Women Deliver
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Knowledge:
- 6-8 years of work experience in globally focused non-profits or multilateral agencies in fundraising
- Understanding of international development required, experience in fundraising for gender equality advocacy (or related area) highly preferred
- Experience working in results-based management frameworks and theory of change principles
- Strong oral and written communication skills required
- Excellent attention to detail and excellence in project management required
- Ability to thrive in high profile environments supporting key program ambassadors, dignitaries, and other honored people with maturity and discretion
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and conduct work independently
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of consistently delivering high-quality work
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness in solving problems
- Strong skills using Microsoft Word and Excel, familiarity with Salesforce a plus
- Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, if needed
