Harbor House is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness of the shelter facility to ensure a safe and healthy environment for survivors of domestic violence and staff. The shelter facilities include one residential building, a childcare center including and an administrative/office area.
Education & Training: A high school diploma/GED and vocational training in facility housekeeping are preferable.
Other Job Requirements: Knowledge of basic computer skills. Knowledge of and ability to operate household kitchen equipment and appliances. Ability to detail clean and work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours). Will share responsibility for on-site kennel, so must be comfortable working with all types of pets.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. Must possess a good driving record, pass a pre-employment drug and background screen and attend a 3-day training to become CORE certified. Minimum age of 21.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of commercial cleaning experience preferred.
