Financial Analyst

Cleveland, East Side Suburb

Our client, a large and well established, international logistics and operations management company, is in need of a Financial Analyst at their offices located in Beachwood, OH.

The Financial Analyst provides analysis and metrics for Finance’s core processes and will be responsible for the knowledge of all systems. Additionally, they will provide critical accounting and analytical support for various processes as well as provide additional support to other functional areas to achieve results.

Some of the Major Responsibilities are as Follows:

  • Analyze, develop, and provide automated solutions impacting financial controllership
  • Develop automated solutions for analysis around financial statement relationships
  • Facilitate automated solutions via multiple applications related to cost savings initiatives
  • A high level of understanding of the IT environment and willingness to understand the environment and its impact on financial results
  • Assistance in identification of development and support activities which can be billed back to the customer. Once these billable items are identified, you will then monitor activity against budget, communicate potential overruns, and prepare and execute the billing transactions
  • Reporting of the billing activity each month. Documentation of the processes to be executed for these billing activities
  • Preparation of month end accruals for IT department
  • Development of cost estimates for projects as needed and requested

The Successful Candidate Will Have the Following:

  • A minimum of 2 years financial analytics experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting required
  • Excellent data management and working knowledgebase required
  • Strong Analytical and presentation skills required
  • Process mapping experience required
  • Data mining and report tool (experience Crystal, Business Objects, etc.) preferred
  • Quality program certification (Six Sigma, ISO, LEAN, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to read and understand software, hardware, and consulting contracts as they pertain to validation of amounts being billed by the vendor
  • Ability to utilize accounting records to research questions from IT leadership regarding financial results or forecasts
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Access required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule as well as work at the specific location are required
  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation to include past employment, education, and criminal history is required
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen is required
