We seek a driven and strategic Operations Manager to lead our rental car operations. In this role, you will oversee daily activities, manage a dedicated team, and implement strategies to boost efficiency and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities include fleet management, achieving sales targets, and ensuring exceptional service standards. As the Operations Manager, you will:
- Oversee and streamline the entire rental process, ensuring minimal wait times and delivering fast, friendly, and efficient service to enhance customer satisfaction.
- To meet customer needs and improve service quality, maintain a well-maintained fleet of clean vehicles with a diverse selection of car types, including specialty vehicles.
- Manage the team to create a seamless operation by anticipating needs, enhancing processes, and addressing challenges before they arise.
- Forecasting needs, improving workflows, and proactively solving problems to ensure smooth operations and the team efforts.
- Complete and prioritize intricate task lists with precision and follow-through without the need for reminders.
- Ensure team members are productive, follow up on performance, keep the team motivated, and provide support when needed.
- Monitor departmental responsibilities and address any slowdowns.
- Conduct and participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff.
- Check performance metrics, ensure team members meet their goals, and adjust strategies as needed
- Make decisions that balance customer satisfaction with company profitability.
- Develop and refine cross-training programs to enhance team member versatility.
- Coach rental agents to achieve sales goals and revenue targets, providing the support they need to excel.
- Generate and present detailed Excel reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Process Optimization:
- Use past data and market trends to predict and prepare for staff and vehicle needs.
- Keep an eye on workflows and find ways to make them work better across the board.
- Plan ahead for any unexpected demands or disruptions to keep things running smoothly.
- Simplify and improve processes to boost efficiency and clear up bottlenecks.
- Create a positive environment where everyone feels encouraged to suggest improvements and solve problems together.
Experience/Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent); college degree preferred
- A minimum of two years experience as a manager or supervisor with a rental car company is ideal but not required.
- Experience in operations management or a similar role, demonstrating a proven successful management and leadership track record.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in real-time monitoring technology and communication systems.
- Ability to monitor and coach a sales team as needed to achieve targets and enhance performance.
