POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Data Architect will play a crucial role in designing the Data warehouse and the Data governance. Technical Data Architect will have experience working in a mid-size to large bank to work closely with IT and Business units to recommend optimal Datawarehouse schemas, database structures, data storage and retrieval needs for the Enterprise. The Data Architect will be responsible for the overall architecture, design and development of Data Warehouse from business requirements to development of logical and physical design, recommending best reporting/analytics solutions and best practices especially focused on banking industry.

The Technical Data Architect can be based in our Joliet office or Chicago corporate headquarters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required (MBA is desirable)
10+ years’ experience in a data analysis and solution design role in Financial Services
3+ years in the role of data architect
Hands-on and proven leadership experience with all aspects of data lifecycle
Expert level Knowledge of SQLServer, ETL, SSAS, SSIS, .NET and PowerBI, XML and JSON
Banking industry knowledge is a plus
Experience working with Core banking solutions such as FIS, Finastra LoanIQ is plus Expert level tool agnostic ETL skills
Strong command of Microsoft SQL Server and .NET stack
Strong knowledge of structured, semi-structured data exchange protocols such as CSV, JSON
Strong understanding of unstructured Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB
Strong command of both structured and non-structured query languages such SQL, NoSQL
Experience in delivering cloud-based data solutions
Need to be hands-on at coding and architecture and ready to dive into newer/emerging technologies to set the path for the organization.
Position may require the need to travel to other branch or meeting locations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define a technology roadmap for first in Enterprise Predictive Analytics journey
Build Datawarehouse solutions by blending both homogenous and non-homogenous data sources
Define Enterprise reporting strategy through utilizing Microsoft technology products such as PowerBI
Define data governance and audit processes
Maintain availability, usability, consistency, data integrity and data security which includes establishing processes to ensure effective Data Management
Work with cross functional teams to define and translate business requirements into Technical Design and coordinate with ETL, BI developers, DBA, System Administrators and Project Managers to build and maintain Data Warehouse, Data Lakes and reporting solutions
Interact with Executive Management and be adept at conveying technical issues in business speak and vice versa
Work with external vendors to build/select solutions in alignment with FMB’s core philosophies
Understand business problems that drive the demand for data centric solutions
Define Data Governance Models
Adept at driving prioritization and value proposition driven conversations
In depth understanding of Banking Industry KPIs and Quality Metrics
