As an experienced Project Manager, you thrive at managing complex technology programs that have far-reaching implications for clients, employees and stakeholders throughout the firm. This role requires a strong grasp of the big-picture – namely, how can technology help achieve business goals – as well as a keen ability to establish priorities, manage resources and budgets, and build and incentivize high-performing teams. You'll work closely with colleagues across the firm to identify opportunities to develop projects and programs that are broadly applicable. Once you and your team establish a roadmap, you'll play an integral role in ensuring that the project is running on time, within budget and in accordance with firm-wide guidelines, including risk and architecture. Just as importantly, you'll work with your team to set goals, foster collaboration and promote the values, culture and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Selected candidate will have seasoned Technology experience and knowledge. Individual will manage Consumer Technology portfolio - including data center migration and application modernization.
We are seeking someone with sound knowledge of and hands-on experience with Agile/Lean principles and mind-set bent on process efficiency, optimization and governance. Individual will successfully manage business programs/projects while building strong relationships; someone who is detail oriented yet has the ability to see the big picture in the context of the program and its intended benefits.
Responsible for facing-off with key business partners in order to understand the strategy, priority and roadmap objectives for the business
Responsible for partnering with the business through the demand management process associated to the Continuous Release cycle- to include PPL, prioritization, IT estimates/sizing, negotiating capacity constraints/ tradeoffs and final project alignment for each release
Responsible for end-to-end Project Delivery and Execution (Scope through Implementation) of the key programs and projects which are aligned to the business' area of focus
Will lead small to large complex technology projects containing multiple, interrelated projects targeting to achieve an overall business goal
Ensures project is completed in accordance with all Risk, Architecture and other relevant Firmwide guidelines. Coordinates resources (staff, equipment, vendors and consultants) across one or more projects
Manages budget for assigned project, monitors project progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly
Adhoc business management functions and executive deck creation
Issue / Risk Management: drive transparency and resolution of project impediments
Financials / Budgets: Manages financials for assigned projects
Communications: manages all project related communications activities through Executive Director + levels
Project Planning and Tracking: Develops organizational structure to address specific needs of the project
Business Value Delivered: Able to translate business strategy into defined projects. Responsible for continued delivery of maximum business value across the assigned projects
Dealing with Ambiguity: Understands broad view of portfolio/projects and can provide clear direction/consistent progress towards portfolio/project goals in the face of conflicting priorities
Decision-Making: Strong decision making skills and willingness to escalate to management when needed
Organizational Agility: Ability to apply organizational agility skills working with Executive Directors + and cross business unit/LOB to ensure all needs met for portfolio/project
This position requires a strong self-starter who can proactively engage cross functional teams without formal direction; someone who is solution oriented, has agile transformation experience, has a proven track record of delivering the forecasted value proposition of the business case; is comfortable working with leadership and is not afraid of having tough conversations.
This role requires a wide range of strengths and capabilities, including:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge in all business processes across an entire line of business, as well expertise in other lines of business and technology disciplines
Understanding of global and line of business project and program management standards and methods
Experience working with high-performing teams in complex program execution
A strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methods; stakeholder management; budget management, risk management and operations
Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the firm
5 years of experience in Information Technology with an emphasis on Technology Program and Project Management
5+ years project management experience in a combined business / technology environment
Working knowledge of Agile principles and Large Scale Scrum.
Ability to generate support from a wide-range of stakeholders and create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners and external constituencies
Experience managing projects with multiple technologies that are geographically dispersed
Operational knowledge of modern CI/CD processes – understanding the nomenclature, definitions and purpose of: SCM tools, Build tools, Deployment tool and Testing tools.
Knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Linux / UNIX
Basic understanding of scripting / coding: knowledge of its concepts and terminology, including:
Being a casual / occasional user of GIT / JENKINS / BAMBOO / MAVEN / GRADLE / and any Programming Language is a big plus. This helps with understanding of developer’s challenges.
Understanding of system integration / app troubleshooting / app optimizations concepts and concerns:
Capacity and resource management
Authentication and authorization, encryption
Awareness of the modern database technologies (types of databases, their purpose and key differences)
Understanding of Cloud computing: cloud providers, types of cloud, containers, other basics and terminology
Good understanding of DEVOPS / SRE concepts
Working knowledge of JPMC internal systems is a big plus: ACM, VERUM, Venafi, AIM, GAIA, ServiceNow, ITSM, Clarity, PPL and other DM processes and tools.
Proficient with MS XLS, MPP, JIRA, Confluence and Sharepoint.
