Fleet Equipment Manager - Carol Stream, IL

We have an immediate need for a Fleet Equipment Manager to be based out of our Carol Stream, IL corporate office.

Responsible for management of a Class 8 equipment fleet, which includes the acquisition, operation and termination of the full service leased fleet, to include maintenance, utilization, fuel, fleet performance, vehicle technology, fleet administration, and related management reporting.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Oversight of the acquisition and rotation of the fleet.
Manages the administration of the fleet maintenance programs.
Manages the administration of fuel tax reporting and fuel purchase security.
Gathers and compiles data required for annual fleet planning.
Develops and applies administrative policies and procedures for fleet and related repair and preventative maintenance operations.
Reviews and communicates data related to costs and trends related to fleet operation and utilization. Uses data to report decision and recommendations. Prepares reports with charts and graphs as well as ad hoc requests.
Provides support to internal customers and various vendors.
Manages and trains associates; coordinates work and evaluates performance.
Develops and implements initiatives to improve fleet fuel performance.
Manages deployment of in-cab, trailer and other types of technologies to measure and support safety, compliance and vehicle operation of the fleet.
Review and administer the correct use of sales tax by our vendors and states of operation.
Terminal support in all things fleet.

Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Office in Carol Stream, Illinois, typically requires less than 10% overnight travel
Must pass the Background Check if applicable
Must pass pre-employment test if applicable
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
5-7 years’ experience in fleet management tied to full service lease vendors.
Experience interpreting technical journals, financial report and legal documents.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
