SAN FRANCISCO, CA
This is an entry-level professional position responsible for providing day-to-day support to the environmental commodities trading desk. This person will be responsible for ensuring our information systems are accurate, facilitating trade lifecycle to ensure timely execution, and settlement of transactions to execute desk portfolio strategies. Also, will support accounting, contract administration or other groups who need information from the portfolios. Incumbents work in accordance with existing policies & procedures, or specific instructions, but take on assignments entailing judgment and/or discretion to select from, or recommend alternative approaches. Work is mainly self-directed, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Operations.
Deal entry into reporting systems and transaction reconciliation of daily trading activity
Physical settlement operations for all transactions including RECs, RINs, CCAs, RGGI, and other environmental commodities.
Execute effectively around desk strategies to maximize profits by optimizing the environmental commodity portfolio.
Communicate with external counterparties for trade fulfillment and settlement.
Interface with front-mid-back office to ensure information flow for the entire life cycle of environmental commodity transactions.
Works in an efficient and detail oriented manner to support greater efficiency and lower error rates.
Performs all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
B.S. or B.A. in economics, business, finance, engineering, information technology or other relevant discipline(s).
0-1 years of professional experience in applicable industries.
Strong proficiency in MS Office Products, databases, and/or analytics software
Basic understanding of programming a plus (vba, sql, oracle)
Strong financial and analytical ability
Possess strong problem solving skills that can generate the necessary procedures for resolution either by direction to others or by self-implementation
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
