DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to evaluate profit & loss reports prepared by others. Complete intra-day/end-of-day processes including completeness controls and reconciliation investigation to ensure capture of new trading activity and general book management has been processed accurately. Provide support or resolve any adhoc queries pertaining to the booking, profit/loss, or risk representation for traders in the books. Support operations for agency and principal trading businesses across the globe (U.S., Canada, LATAM, EMEA, and APAC), including High Touch, Direct Market Access, Program, International Equities, Cross-book, and ETF operations, working closely with the Front Office (Sales Traders and Traders), Technology, Product Control, Financial Control, and other teams. Support oversight, control, and strategy by monitoring various controls implemented to mitigate risk to the Cash Equities and ETF trade support businesses, and by ensuring proper controls are in place and potential risks are identified. Oversee ADR conversions and cross-border transactions settlement, facilitating meetings with U.S. and international settlement teams to coordinate actions and communication across teams. Responsible for agency account controls, making sure that exchange, broker, and principal fills are correctly allocated to clients’ orders. Investigate discrepancies and work with Technology and Client Services MO in reaching a resolution. Drive business, control and regulatory agendas, as well as efficiency initiatives and operational models for wider business initiatives. Participate in and contribute to the various strategic initiatives, improving evolving processes and business architecture. Develop members of the team as individuals and as a collective support team, serving as the first point of escalation relating to any problems with the team. Identify improvements and influence technology teams to prioritize certain projects. Establish strong relationships with senior Trading and Sales desk heads.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Associate or Analyst within Trading Services, Equities Trade Support, Cash Equities, Investment/Settlement Operations, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: operations within Equities, Options, Futures, Foreign Exchange (FX), and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs); implications of trade exposure on Equities, Options, Futures, Foreign Exchange (FX), and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and managing risk to the trading books and records against Profit and Loss (PnL); collaborating with other financial infrastructure groups such as Profit and Loss (PnL) Reporting, Financial & Product Control, Settlements & Pre-matching, or Purchases and Sales (PnS) in matters relating to cash equities; Voluntary and Mandatory Corporate action impacts to Equities; manipulating and analyzing data from varying sources; and project management.
Job Location: 383 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10179. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% per week.
Salary: $114,046 - $131,000 per year.
