This position is responsible for ensuring that assigned NorthShore 20/20 teams are successful in achieving their objectives and highlighting, as appropriate, content gaps and opportunities for initiative integration. In addition, this role will partner with senior leaders to facilitate strategy development, planning and execution of key organizational priorities in support of NorthShore 20/20 transformation initiatives.
Strategy Development and Transformation
Partner with Initiative Leads to oversee transformational projects/initiatives in support of NorthShore 20/20 that are significant in scope and complexity requiring integrated and disciplined application of improvement tools/methods, process redesign and analysis from problem identification through implementation..
Partner with senior leaders to develop effective strategies for transforming current business methodologies and processes to maximize business outcomes and value creation.
Lead strategic work teams to define the scope and requirements for NorthShore 20/20 initiatives to include establishing roles and responsibilities of team members.
Independently structure, analyze, synthesize and present findings with minimum direction.
Meet with stakeholders on a regular basis to communicate project progress, review challenges and apply design thinking methodologies to identify innovative solutions to business challenges.
Apply analytical and operational frameworks to present information and recommendations.
Collaborate with other TMO members to ensure that initiatives across NorthShore 20/20 pillars use improvement and project management tools consistently.
Deliver high quality visual presentations, communicating both data driven and conceptual information as well as communicating key concepts orally.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce recommendations for innovative solutions that optimize organizational outcomes.
Integrative Strategy for Planning and Execution
Partner with senior leaders to proactively develop effective methods to standardize approaches to process improvement and project management that can be applied across the organization to strengthen our strategic execution.
Establish timelines for specific stages of process improvement and ensure that the team is progressing and is able to identify the key problem(s) that are the root cause (s) of metrics that are not at target.
Provide support in developing a project leadership culture that embeds robust and efficient process improvement and effective implementation as standard business capability and practice.
Partner with Support Departments to develop business cases for proposed initiatives.
Act as a Change Agent enabling Change Management at NorthShore through communicating high-level goals and change rationale, engaging stakeholders, identifying and responding to resistance, providing training for new ways of working, and instilling a continuous improvement mindset in the organization.
Collaborate with HIT, Operations Leadership, and Pillar Leads to develop and apply performance management tools (e.g., key performance indicators and metrics) and support the discipline of monitoring and addressing performance. Ensure a smooth transition of metric ownership to operations and clinical teams.
Develop transformation plans that incorporate best practices that are consistent with the business case rationale.
Develop and maintain project management methodologies, templates, and processes and train others as required.
Research, document and present process standards and best practices.
Demonstrate how process improvement will decrease cost, increase productivity and enhance process effectiveness and efficiencies.
Conduct regular project team meetings to share progress, discuss issues, document and track actions.
Support the communication development efforts to ensure clear communications of the transformation strategy efforts.
Set priorities, guide, and motivate project team members.
Partner effectively with other TMO members and project stakeholders in support of project deliverables to identify dependencies and possible issues across teams.
Maintain compliance with NSUHS policies, practices, procedures to mitigate risk and iterate workflows to optimize performance outcomes.
Identify and implement continuous improvement methodologies to enhance TMO efficiency and effectiveness.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:
- Project management experience with planning and tracking scope, time and budget associated with a project (PMP certification a plus)
- Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to calculate budget estimates necessary to evaluate costs
- Process improvement (Lean certification and experience a plus) and innovation models
- Data analysis
- Knowledge of business / clinical operations
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Prior work experience with healthcare operations and/or clinical improvement initiatives is preferred.
- Prior project management experience is preferred (PMP certification a plus).
- Prior experience in applying process improvement methodologies is preferred.
