Working closely with the National OUTLOOK® Team, the Regional OUTLOOK® Specialist is responsible for executing the OUTLOOK® Services marketing strategy into deliverable products for customers.

Based on a thorough understanding of customer requirements, the Regional OUTLOOK® Specialist defines customer specific service work scopes based on contractual obligations, and manages the OUTLOOK® Transition Process for new accounts.

A key part of the process involves meeting with customers, operations, sales, engineering, MIS, and other support organizations to shepherd development and communicate the merits and features of the program.

The incumbent is responsible for the ongoing management of current OUTLOOK® Service accounts to insure the established service model satisfies the work scope and service related contractual obligations.

This will be done by monitoring ongoing customer satisfaction through the use of customer management review meetings, customer surveys, cost savings documentation, and customer specific key performance indicators (KPI’s) and associated reports as well as other management tools.

The incumbent will work with regional sales, operations, IS and Admin. management to develop and implement enhancements to the existing service offerings, which will increase sales, improve profitability, and reduce operational costs.

The incumbent will also support the implementation of various marketing initiatives to achieve Regional Company profit, growth, operational efficiency, and sales objectives.

The incumbent will support and transition existing barcode customers to EZ-TRAC.

Essential Accountabilities

Actively support a “Safety First” culture.

Sales Related

Working with the National OUTLOOK® Team, provide sales support to Regional Company sales associates in their efforts to market OUTLOOK® Supply Chain Management Programs, which include VMI offerings, EZ-TRAC, AcuVend and other value added service programs.

Assist sales associates in identifying new potential OUTLOOK® prospects; develop and implement strategies to acquire as well as solidify and enhance existing OUTLOOK® client relationships, to include renewals.

Assist with the following type of program support: Pre-qualification criteria, sales presentation, proposal preparation, cost model analysis, risk assumption recommendations, work scope agreements, contracts, commercial guidelines and recommendations.

Recommend pricing of OUTLOOK® Service offerings to Regional Companies based on P&L evaluation of service models and the value delivered to the client.

Install vending and scanning equipment, train end users and internal Airgas associates on operation and troubleshooting of equipment, service and repair equipment, provide onsite and remote support to associates and customers.

Assist OUTLOOK® National Service Managers in the development of Site Specific OUTLOOK® Service Programs which may include inventory management tools such as EZ-TRAC, to include:

Feasibility Studies and Preliminary Proposals

Detailed Site Audits and Matrix development

Work Scope Definitions

Cost Savings evaluations

Transition Game Plan development and implementation

Act as liaison between the regional company and the Airgas National OUTLOOK® team.

Service Manager Related

Supervise dedicated OUTLOOK® Technicians, and support part time Service and VMI Technicians in the execution of their assigned work scope requirements.

Provide or arrange for program specific training to new OUTLOOK® team members, to include technician responsibilities and the use of tools such as EZ-TRAC.

Support/Mentor Regional OUTLOOK® team members in the preparation of cost savings documentation, services/product performance KPI reports, identify variances, and develop appropriate corrective actions.

Manage the OUTLOOK® Services Transition Process for new accounts.

Support the on-going execution of existing service models by maintaining up to date site specific work scopes and operational guidelines and performing monthly administrative functions which can not be performed elsewhere in the organization.

Work with assigned account managers to review product sales, service, cost, and budget results. Reports findings and provides on-going performance feedback and improvement objectives to the OUTLOOK® team members.

EZ-TRAC Related

Working with the National OUTLOOK® Program Managers, BPI and DTF Teams, support regional commercial account managers to develop program specific EZ-TRAC service models, and help to implement the program at new accounts.

Performs customer site assessments and audits, when needed, as related to EZ-TRAC requirements.

Support the transition of existing accounts to EZ-TRAC as required.

Conduct and maintain training programs for internal and external users using nationally developed training programs.

Work with the National OUTLOOK® Program Managers and DTF Tech Support Teams to track EZ-TRAC issues:

Track all requests to implement the EZ-TRAC program at existing customers or prospects.

Track all customer statistics using the EZ-TRAC program.

Track complaints and any requested software bugs and work with the National OUTLOOK® Program Managers to resolve.

Work with regional IS teams to develop the appropriate regional customer support for the program.

VMI Related

Work with the account managers, sales managers and AVPs to evaluate all existing VMIs for effectiveness and value.

Approve and facilitate any new VMI prospects.

Work directly with the branches to ensure effective billing and inventory control of all VMI accounts.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Work within a matrix organization tasked with executing a complex supply and distribution work scope.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities of any direct reports in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Within the context of the Regions OUTLOOK® Program.


Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university and/or 5

years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Conceptual selling ability, knowledge of consultative selling skills - able to view situations from “10,000 feet” as well as “ground level”.

Knowledge of barcode tracking systems, methodologies and related equipment.

Solid time management and organizational skills.

Broad product knowledge of Airgas product mix.

Broad operational knowledge of Airgas processes.

Broad knowledge of our customer’s Supply Chain.

Broad knowledge of Supply Chain Management and VMI activities.

Solid communication and presentation skills.

Solid computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database programs).

Understanding of basic financial concepts.

Project Management experience preferred.

Team player with the ability to manage by influence.

Collaboration and delegation skills.

Ability to set goals and motivate self and others to achieve these goals.

Some overnight travel required.

Must have valid drivers license.


Selected candidates will receive proper training on Strategic Account Management, CribMaster Hardware/Software and all OUTLOOK® Services offerings.

During some detailed site audits, this equipment may be worn up to 8 hours per day for up to two weeks at a time.

Ability to move throughout a typical refinery, chemical plant, or large office structure such as a hospital or university on foot for up to 8 hours a day, sometimes for weeks at a time.
