Maintenance Planner_ Full Time

The primary role of a Planner at the Woodstock Plant is to establish timely- effective work plans. The Planner also manages the interfaces with all other parts of the organization to support asset management. The primary responsibilities are focused on development of work plans and coordinating scheduling of work to be performed. The Planner supports all quality and safety programs in all work practices.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Reviews all work requests to determine the level of job plan required.
Visits the job site to determine any special conditions or requirements for the job and locate the problem areas.
Prepares work plans- which must identify the following (to the degree appropriate for the plan):
Estimated cost (Material- Labor (Dollars and Man-hours)- Equipment rental- Etc.).
Special tools and equipment.
Contractor requirements and estimated costs.
Drawings and sketches.
Working at heights requirements.
Interface requirements (e.g.- Engineering- Environmental- Production)
Verifies availability of parts and materials.
Issues/stages materials to work orders for Shutdowns
Issues/stages materials for routine maintenance tasks.
Requisitions non-stock items or ensures non-stock items are requisitioned.
Routes the work order for approval (Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager) after completing the cost estimate.
Manages and reports the work order backlog.
Run KPI or other required reports to support the Maintenance/Engineering Department.
Completes work orders closeout documentation.
Prepares a draft schedule weekly for the coming week based on work order priority- carry-over work to be continued- etc.
Routes schedule for input/approval by the Production Manager and Maintenance Supervisors.
Equipment Failure Descriptions for the CMMS.
Maintains controlled documents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
Reviews equipment failure data for recurrent failures and initiates Root Cause Failure Analysis actions.
Prepare- review- and revise existing documentation- as required- for all PM/PDM tasks.
Prepares requisitions for on-site contractor support and ensures policy adherence during on-site activities.
Maintain drawing catalog.
Follow Safety Guidelines in accordance with Safe Practices and Job Safety Analysis. Participates in the work Safe Process.
This position has accountability for QRMP standards as outline in the Woodstock accountability document and supports plant FSQ on all procedures/programs pertaining to product safety.
Monitor and initiate the ordering for all MRO stock parts according to set min/max levels. Ensure proper authorization for the processing of orders for any MRO stock parts that fall outside of the min/max levels. Monitor the delivery status of all MRO stock parts.
Process the orders for all non-MRO items- sanitation- capital and Maintenance supplies. Check procurement requisitions for accuracy- set up purchase orders in the SAP system and the SRM system.
Prepare RTV’s (Return to Vendor) on MRO stock returns and repairs and make all necessary shipping arrangements. Return incorrect items to vendor for exchange or credit.
Assist the controller with the performance of routine cycle counts.
Review min/max levels with the Maintenance Department and adjust if necessary- according to history and direction of the Maintenance Manager. Maintain a current list of all obsolete parts with value and communicate the list to the Controller and the Maintenance Manager on a quarterly basis so that they can actively determine the best course for the items (i.e. seek a buyer or scrap).
Specialized Job Knowledge or Experience Skill Level:
Computer skills are required.
Excellent Organizational skills and the proven ability to follow through.
Post-secondary technical education preferred. Work experience will be considered ILOE.
Knowledge of manufacturing- food- packaging- and refrigeration equipment along with facilities and around equipment would be preferred- but not required.
Experience and skills in: Project management- maintenance planning- problem solving- leadership- mechanical knowledge- electrical knowledge- mathematics would be plus.
SAP computer maintenance management system operation experience is a plus.
High school or GED diploma
Fluent in English or bilingual English/Spanish (written- orally and reading)
1-3+ years of Maintenance Food Manufacturing experience
4+ years of Maintenance Manufacturing or Maintenance Planner experience
Environment temperature can fluctuate
Seating long hours- walking as needed
Plant environment would have strong smell of vinegar and/or spices
Physical Demand Classification (PDC: Reaching- handling- fingering- high repetitive- twisting - turning)
