Directs and monitors all mortgage lending activities for BCU, ensuring compliance with BCU lending policy and all applicable rules, regulations, statues, and the Credit Union Act. Sets and executes strategy to drive continuous improvement of product relevance to our members, product growth performance, channel experience improvements, and departmental efficiency through digital transformation.
Role and Responsibilities
Participate with other senior managers in setting the strategic direction of BCU
Directs and monitors all aspects of BCU mortgage lending operations, including origination, secondary marketing, and service, through subordinate manager/supervisors, third party vendors and others
Leads and develops a team of leaders and implements rigorous people development and performance management practices across the real estate organization
Develops and executes a strategic roadmap focused on driving superior growth, exceptional member experience, and improved efficiency by leveraging highly automated technologically driven solutions
Ability to go deep on technology trends, roadmaps, and managing development lifecycle
Drives strong Net Promoter Scores by executing on strategies to improve member-centric experiences throughout the consumer decision journey, fulfillment, and servicing
Builds a results-oriented performance culture with a strong focus on product and service excellence, execution, speed, and quality
Improve maturity of data and lead management capabilities and execution
Determine annual loan production goals and initiate action to achieve goals working with established delivery channel management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners and regulators
Participate in credit committee including the development and implementation of appropriate changes to loan policies, credit risk, and strategy
Monitor product delivery and quality and take action to resolve obstacles and ensure continuous improvement in key productivity and quality metrics
Ensure the credit union follows all lending regulations across all delivery channels and develop procedural changes as compliance require or new programs demand
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum 15 years of experience in a credit union or banking environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 10 years of extensive mortgage lending experience
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills and aptitude
Excellent leadership skills: prior experiences leading large teams and communicating with and influencing change with all levels of the organization
Prior experience leveraging technology to drive high-impact strategic improvements
Exceptional focus and execution orientation
Deep understanding of market trends, competitive strategies, and real estate technology provider capabilities
Extensive knowledge of real estate lending and underwriting practices
Experience in driving loan sales volume, supporting a sales and service environment, and staff development
Strong overall business acumen: understanding of lending financial drivers, prior P&L responsibility, track record of creating strong consumer experiences and driving operational performance improvement
