Summary:
The Hazmat Driver/Field Technician will provide extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership for the safe transportation of natural gas projects. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations. The role will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment and supporting natural gas delivery and overall project success, all while providing top-level customer service in the field.
This is a diverse position that involves transportation, operations and local work at our shop in Evanston WY. The ultimate candidate will enjoy taking on new tasks, problem solving, and assisting with the company's growth.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle (tractor-trailer) combination, usually long distances, in a safe, timely, accurate, and courteous manner
- Safely operating company equipment associated with the delivering, loading, and off-loading of LNG and CNG
- Operate all equipment per company and/or manufacturer guidelines to maximize equipment life cycle and minimize maintenance costs
- Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, document deficiencies, and ensure all safety items are in good working order.
- Maintain awareness and compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations
- Follow all safety rules and report any accidents or injuries promptly to management
- The safe and consistent maintenance to the company’s permanent and portable CNG compression equipment
- Natural Gas equipment installation and start-up at customer locations.
- Makes routine service trips to customer sites at request of supervisor.
- Travels to customer sites, to troubleshoot equipment, process problems and perform routine maintenance
- Performs duties related to the maintenance and operation of Mobile LNG/CNG equipment, and delivery truck transfers.
- Take direction from off-site engineers and technical support staff to successfully troubleshoot problems.
- Monitors LNG/CNG systems in an outdoor environment, sometimes in adverse weather.
- Operate mid to heavy duty vehicles with trailers
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- HS Diploma or GED preferred
- Two (2) or more years prior experience as driver of HAZMAT tractor-trailer vehicles
- Must possess all applicable Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements
- Product knowledge of cryogenic liquids and CNG preferred
- Must possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license
- Have a sound understanding of DOT regulations, internal policies, government safety and regulatory standards, and ensure these polices, and standards, are applied to daily activities and job sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending on a frequent basis
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as a background check
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds of force for connecting hoses or turning valves
- Availability to work 24/7 on-call schedule as needed
- 100% travel to customer sites
- Sit for considerable periods of time
- Operate motor vehicles/trucks, machines, hand tools, and all other job-specific equipment and tools
- Ability to work in various outdoor environments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $90,000.00 per year
