Know, practice, and enforce the safe use of all equipment and materials employed in the course of assigned work. He or she must conduct activities in a safe manner and observe all safety and environmental regulations

  • Laboratory formulation, testing and evaluation of materials in areas of construction plasters, dry powder textures, and ready-mixed texture products.
  • Under the direction of a senior scientist, plan and execute laboratory experiments, conduct testing and compile test data to determine follow-up
  • Provide written synopses of data and key technical points related to project work results, including recognition and reporting of new technology information relative to project
  • Support Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing and Technical Services to identify, prioritize and resolve production issues and product quality

High School degree with a basic understanding of scientific method and testing with good written and oral communication skills.

  • Minimum five years application experience with building materials, construction, and application finishing practices including all hand tools and mechanical Proficient in plaster application techniques and evaluation (veneer, conventional, and decorative). Skilled in the construction of building models for teaching, demo and design evaluations.
  • Experienced in use of Analytical instrumentation. Extensive knowledge of gypsum characterization employing ASTM testing methods associated with plaster, joint, and texture
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel)
  • Provide effective & timely communication to project manager on technical issues related to projects of responsibility.
  • Organizational & planning skills to identify issues and execute in timely & efficient manner to achieve project
  • Demonstrated flexibility to perform additional responsibilities as assigned & deal effectively with unexpected requests
