Group Leader and Assistant Group Leader

Are you interested in having fun and working in a position that will make a difference in the life of a school age child? Community Teamwork is a private non-profit organization with over 400 employees dedicated to reducing barriers and creating opportunities for low income individuals and families.

CTI’s School Age Program Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders will be part of a team helping children to meet their individual, educational and social needs.

Have you ever worked at a summer camp, coached any sports, studying to work with children in the future, need experience working with children for public school or worked with children in the past then this is the job for you! Are you a Paraprofessional and looking for some extra cash; CTI School Age Programs are located in 7 different Lowell Public Schools? Attending UMASS Lowell, Middlesex Community College, Lowell High School and need time to study but do not want to work weekends or bag groceries? CTI School Age Program is open Monday through Friday for before school care, after school care and vacation weeks including summer.

The ideal candidate for the Group Leader Role will have the following:

MUST enjoy working with elementary children (Ages 5-13yrs)
Must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following requirements:
Have a High School Diploma or equivalent; and have 6 months experience working with school age children including 3 months supervised experience at a school age child care program; or
Have nine months experience with school age children including three months supervised experience at a school age child care program.
Have an Associate’s Degree and 3 months experience working with school age children
Must be able to pass the Background Record Process through The Department of Early Education and Care
Evidence of physical exam within one-year prior to date of hire and evidence of 2 MMRs or Titus.
Reliable Transportation
Bilingual skills a plus Khmer/Portuguese/Spanish/Swahili/Arabic

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Group Leader Role will have the following:

MUST enjoy working with elementary children (Ages 5-13yrs)
Must be at least 17 years of age and meet one of the following requirements:
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Be enrolled in a high school program or equivalent
Must be able to pass the Background Record Process through The Department of Early Education and Care
Evidence of physical exam within one-year prior to date of hire and evidence of 2 MMRs or Titus.
Reliable Transportation
Bilingual skills a plus Khmer/Portuguese/Spanish/Swahili/Arabic

Responsibilities for the Assistant Group Leader and Group Leader include:

Smile and have fun!
Provide supervision and safety of children
Recognize the child enrolled as an individual
Assist in creating and implementing daily curriculum and schedule
Outdoor games and Gym games
Arts and Crafts
Homework Help
Family Style Dining
Attend monthly trainings to broaden knowledge
Follow Early Education and Care, USDA and CTI School Age Policies & Procedures

Work Schedule:
Before School Care Only: Located at one of the following 3 Sites

Rogers, McAuliffe and Pawtucket Memorial

Monday through Friday 7:00AM-9:00/15AM

After School Care Only: Located at one of the following 7 Sites:

Bailey, Greenhalge, Lincoln, McAuliffe, Murkland, Pawtucket and Rogers

Monday through Friday 2:00/3:00-6:00 (shifts vary on location & availability)
