This position is responsible for directing and/or influencing performance of Facilities & Maintenance (F&M) activities across the portfolio. To be successful in this role, the individual will need to possess strong technical and leadership skills and the ability to influence and advise internal and external resources.

Direct and/influence the F&M strategy for the entire portfolio including direct supervision for a team of 30+ technicians and coordinators
Ensure that activities of the F&M team are completed within scope, schedule, and budget
Develop solutions, in partnership with Operations, to optimize the overall design of support to restaurants
Review and analyze existing programs, processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Proactively identify and frame strategic opportunities for improvement leveraging the scale of the portfolio
Serve as Facilities Manager for various restaurants to provide Operations with day-to-day business support and functional expertise
Drive continuous improvements by holding vendors accountable to established KPIs, actively consulting and training Operations on key topics and engaging Operations to understand and address their challenges
Conduct internal and external strategic assessments to keep up-to-date on industry, market, and competitive activities and trends

Define a roadmap for optimizing the overall support of F&M for the organization. Direct the execution of that plan in partnership with Operations and other essential disciplines.
Define the optimal structure of the F&M team
Determine right design of centralized support for F&M
Establish requirements and provide recommendations for technology needed to support work order, asset and vendor management
Facilitate efforts to identify, plan and prioritize these improvement initiatives

Execute key projects, for example:
Energy demand improvements
Standardized scope of work development
Tactical priorities necessary to keep restaurants operational, compliant and safe

Minimum of 10 years multi-unit facilities manager experience, preferably in the restaurant industry
5 years directly managing a large team of technicians and supervisors with budgetary oversight in a complex facilities environment
Strong technical knowledge of general construction or related mechanical trade and all aspects of restaurant facilities maintenance, including HVAC, refrigeration, food prep and production equipment, electrical, plumbing and building systems and finishes.
Knowledgeable in governing codes and regulations, safety (OSHA) rules, sanitation (NSF), building codes (BOCA), insurance and permitting

A strong leader with excellent communication and relationship management skills a must
Must be customer-service oriented and able to apply critical thinking, advanced problem-solving skills and use data to deliver solutions
Has a high-level of financial and general business acumen with the ability to manage budgets, understand the P&L and negotiate favorable returns to organization
Is comfortable managing competing and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering both a strategic and tactical level of support to the business
Team, project, program and vendor development and management skills all critical
