Full Job Description
The Executive Producer, Physical Production, will oversee the daily below the line production team within a fast paced, live broadcast environment. The successful candidate will need to be highly organized, with ability to keep team and tasks on schedule and on budget. Must come from a strong and experienced background dealing with production gear, crew and managing a large team of freelancers.
Facilitate and negotiate the hiring of key below the line personnel and crew, including audio engineers, production designers, lighting directors, cinematographer, etc.
Oversee below the line production teams on the daily, including how shows will be staffed and structured.
Determine key production vendors for third party production and negotiate deals with companies for production support
Draft and publish initial production team budgets, daily schedules and quarterly planning documents as it relates to the studio crew.
Troubleshoot and communicate all production changes to internal and external teams
Set salary guidelines for cast and crew
Continually monitoring all projects in progress with regard to schedule, budgets, update meetings, etc.
Work with facilities and operations teams to sync on all production matters
Coordinate with technical team on the daily to work through any production related issues within the studio
Help studio operations team define what production gear and tech is needed as it relates to production needs
Manage freelance production teams and crew in a busy live environment
BA/BS degree: 10+ years in physical production experience
Understanding of labor laws and payroll rules as they pertain to production and crew
Awareness and understanding of gear needs in a live studio environment
Rolodex of production freelancers to call when needed
Ability to manage the scheduling of production freelancers every day
Comfortable in a live studio, multi show environment
Access to high quality production vendors and production talent in Los Angeles
Team player who operates in a fast paced environment
Familiar with current trends and production workflows
