Leads efforts in MMG Anesthesia as it relates to scheduling anesthesia providers at all applicable anesthetizing locations throughout MedStar Health. Develops locum provider pool and, as necessary, schedules locum physicians/CRNAs/AAs for routine and vacation locum coverage.
Associates degree required, Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare or Marketing/Communications preferred.
1 year progressively responsible related experience in healthcare; 3 years related experience preferred.
No special certification, registration or license required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Must be technically savvy with web based computer software.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assist AVP of MMG-A in developing locum pool of MDs/CRNAs/AAs (where applicable) throughout MedStar Health.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
In collaboration with local site anesthesia administrators, ensure call schedule are up-to-date based on “rules” established in the software and provider time off.
Leads efforts related to MMG-A scheduling software to ensure accuracy and usability.
Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule locum providers based on facility needs and provider scheduled time off.
Serve as primary contact person for scheduling software with the vendor and end users within MMG-A.
