In this challenging, hands-on role on AlixPartners’ Corporate Services team, you will be a business partner to the Financial Advisory Services (FAS) and Turnaround Restructuring Services (TRS) practices. You will also partner with team members in the Accounting and other Corporate Services functions within our fast-paced, high-growth firm. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with a strong customer service attitude. He/she will collaborate closely with other team members, and will enjoy the challenge of addressing complex financial issues.
The Financial Analyst is a full-time role located in Southfield, Michigan and reports to the TRS/FAS Finance Director. Paid relocation is not available for this position.
Support the FAS and TRS practices through engagement analysis, pricing models, and revenue recognition topics working closely with accounting. Review and understand consulting agreements with clients and subcontractors. Support AR process and collections through appropriate follow-up
Prepare and distribute monthly reports and other documents, data and financial analysis to FAS and TRS Managing Directors and practice leaders as assigned. Respond to one-off requests for data and analysis from FAS and TRS leadership and Managing Directors with appropriate guidance
Support preparation of internal finance presentations and related analyses/commentaries. Support the budgeting and forecasting process as needed
Handle sensitive and emergent emails and calls from leadership, Managing Directors, staff and other contacts for follow-up; exercise judgment in responding to unique and urgent situations. Balance conflicting demands and interests from practice and Corporate Services stakeholders, finding creative ways to meet the needs of differing timelines
Handle other ad hoc financial and accounting analyses
A bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business/economics or related field is required
0-3 years’ accounting/finance experience preferred (in a Consulting or similar professional services firm preferred but not required)
Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; able to learn new systems and tools
Elite, HFM (Hyperion Financial Management), and Business Objects skills preferred
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High-energy, flexible and responsive work style; ability to work with poise and professionalism, sometimes under demanding situations
Must have the ability to work full time in a fast-paced office environment
