Center Point Inc. is currently recruiting for a Psychiatrist for our residential and outpatient drug treatment programs in San Rafael, CA.
The Psychiatrist is primarily responsible for conducting mental health assessments, preparing psychiatric evaluations and reports, the general provision of psychiatric care, medication management and intervention services to the clients participating in Center Point, Inc. residential and outpatient programs in Marin County (San Rafael). The Psychiatrist will conduct psychiatric examinations and evaluations of clients, develop diagnoses, and prescribe treatments. The Psychiatrist will also provide support for the integrated healthcare team. The Psychiatrist may also provide consultative support to counselors and other clinicians as needed. The Psychiatrist may be required to work evenings and weekends.
Psychiatry Responsibilities: Analyzes and evaluates patient data and tests or findings and/or conducts testing and other assessments to diagnose the nature and extent of any mental disorder. Prescribes, directs, and administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional or behavioral disorders. Gathers and maintains client information and records, including social and medical history obtained from clients, relatives or other professionals. Designs individualized treatment plans for clients. The Psychiatrist collaborates with physicians, psychologists, counselors, social workers and other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress. Practices using evidence based practices.
Education and Experience
M.D. or D. O. degree from an accredited United States medical school
Successful completion of internship and residency in psychiatry with experience managing patients with substance use disorder/addiction
Board Certified in Psychiatry
Valid and active California medical license, without any limitations on license to practice in specialty
Eligible to participate in the CMS Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement programs
Valid and active DEA license with X waiver to prescribe buprenorphine; if does not have X waiver must obtain within 6 months of hire
Three to five years of experience as a licensed psychiatrist
Certification or Specialization in Addiction Medicine
Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders
Bi-lingual in Spanish
Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment
Experience working with criminal justice population
