DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Houston Health Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of a Community Outreach Coordinator, to perform the following job functions:

Establishes partnerships with community agencies and internal City of Houston programs, coordinates and schedules outreach events for the health department to participate in.
Facilitates reproductive health related training and train the trainer sessions for other department programs and external partner agencies.
Responsible for monitoring grant deliverables progress and quality assurance of all family planning outreach activity conducted by internal and external partners to ensure grant compliance.
Completes special projects as assigned working on a variety of administrative, professional, management and community outreach issues of medium to high complexity.
Performs Ahlers system data entry

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed.

Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of professional experience in community organizational work, resource and referral services, or a closely related field are required.

Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Grant positions are dependent upon continued available funds. If funding is no longer available, employee may be laid off or transferred. Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
