The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
Graduate of an Accredited School of Accredited School of Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree Accredited School of Nursing - Must be Obtained within 4 years of hire if hired after 2015
6 Months Nursing - Acute Care Preferred
RN - Registered Nurse - Current California License Required
BLS - Basic Life Support - Certification Required
For Training Position Only - In addition to the minimum RN qualifications listed above, must meet one of the following requirements:
- Completion of 150 hours of a Surgical Internship.
- Completion of a Periop Immersion Program.
- 2 years’ experience in a Procedural area within the last 3 years and 2
years’ experience in an acute care setting.
This is a flex position starting at either 7:00am or 11:00am.
