Summary: This position will train under a housekeeper or property custodian within our housekeeping department in delivering a pleasant vacation experience to visitors by preparing rental units and maintaining common areas of properties to impeccable hospitality standards by performing the following duties:
Will train on how to perform the below Essential Duties and Responsibilities, and perform these duties under close supervision. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists housekeeping supervisor or houseperson in stocking sufficient inventory of supplies and linens in the various linen / housekeeping closets at properties.
Maintains order and cleanliness in linen / housekeeping closets.
Assists as needed in Striping units of soiled linens and towels. Loads and hauls trash and linens from units, walkways, common areas, garages and balconies, under direct supervision of housekeepers.
Deliver requested supplies to units.
Reports to duty promptly to receive daily schedule of units to be cleaned.
Sorts, counts, folds, marks, carries linens & towels.
Replenishes supplies such as kitchen supplies, and literature.
Responds to guest and/or owner requests professionally.
Cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, vacuums and polishes floor.
Scrubs and polishes tubs, toilets and all bathroom fixtures and surfaces.
Scrubs and polishes appliances interior & exterior, and all kitchen fixtures and surfaces.
Dusts furniture & fixtures throughout unit.
Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Replenishes bathroom supplies.
Replaces light bulbs.
Ensures proper working order of cleaning equipment (vacuum bag replacement, etc).
Works in a team with moving heavy furniture, appliances, and accessing high areas, with direct supervision.
Picks up litter and debris from grounds, walkways and common areas.
Will be trained how to identify and report any maintenance problems observed at property (exterior or interior).
Maintains and cares for all equipment and supplies he/she works with.
Does not drive on company related business, in any capacity as an intern

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
