Technical Trainer and Solution Specialist



What you will do:
This position will work closely with the Service and Sales Organizations for Johnson Controls Direct and Indirect channels within the Tyco Retail Solutions division for North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Primary job functions include conducting Technical Training for the Field Service organization and supporting and guiding the Sales Teams by recommending solutions that meet the customer’s requirements and address their pain points. The TRS Technical Trainer / Solution Specialist will interact


communicate on a regular basis with multiple intercompany departments in order to meet assigned deliverables and remain educated on the technical aspects of TRS Solutions and products. This role will be an active participant during customer visits and occasionally will present and demonstrate TRS Solutions to Sales Teams and high level Retail Executives at the in-house showroom, Sales Events and Industry Events.

How you will do it:
Conduct Technical Training on a regular basis to the North America, Latin America and the Caribbean Field Service Technicians.

Work closely with the Training Development team by providing input on product training and feedback on training delivery outcome.

Candidate must be willing to travel extensively to domestic and international destinations when required to deliver Instructor Led Training as well as delivering multi-day recurrent training sessions in the Boca Raton HQ training facilities.

Assist Account Managers in configuring EAS, Traffic and Inventory Intelligence solutions tailored for the customer’s needs.

Provide support with sales tools, collateral materials, use cases, best practices and pricing.

Host regional conference calls with Sales Teams in order to update the region on current TRS product developments and changes in the product portfolio.

Drive and promote Marketing product launches and competitive awareness materials.

Support tradeshow events, road shows and customer meetings by providing solution presentations and demonstrations.

Act as the key liaison between the field Sales Force and TRS Solution Management, Marketing and Engineering.

Attend Product Development meetings, support the Development team as the Sales liaison and provide customer feedback and input during product development cycles.

Conduct conference calls and webinars with Account Teams and retail customers and provide support as the Subject Matter Expert to assist particular sales efforts.

Audit Sales Collateral materials in order to ensure accuracy.

Work closely with Solution Management and other cross functional teams for special product/solution applications and lead the communications efforts between all groups.

Clear and concise oral and written communications in English and Spanish. Good sense of fit-for-purpose communication styles and the capacity to flex appropriately. Comfortable speaking and demonstrating solutions effectively around high level Tyco, Retail Executives and Industry Experts.

University Degree and 5-7 years’ experience in related relevant field or a minimum of 10 years related experience


A complete understanding of retail and TRS value propositions.
