**Job Summary**
The Virtual Learning Educational Assistant (VLEA) will support students, teachers, and parents in the virtual learning environment. The VLEA will work closely with the Assistant to the Dean to facilitate effective online education, provide technical support, and assist students with coursework. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and passionate about education.
*Key Responsibilities:**
- **Student Support:**
- Assist students with navigating the virtual learning platform and accessing online resources.
- Provide one-on-one or small group academic support to students, including tutoring and homework assistance.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Foster a positive and engaging online learning environment.
- **Instructional Support:**
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement virtual lessons and activities.
- Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, and exams.
- Create and maintain online educational resources, such as study guides and instructional videos.
- Support teachers in managing virtual classroom behavior and ensuring student participation.
- **Technical Support:**
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to the virtual learning platform and other educational tools.
- Assist students and parents in setting up and using necessary technology, such as computers, tablets, and software.
- Communicate with the IT department to resolve technical problems promptly.
- **Communication and Collaboration:**
- Serve as a liaison between teachers, students, and parents to ensure effective communication.
- Provide regular updates to the Assistant to the Dean on student progress and any challenges encountered.
**Qualifications:**
- **Education:**
- Associate’s degree or higher in Education, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in a virtual or online educational setting is preferred.
- **Skills:**
- Proficiency with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for common technical issues.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $17.75 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 32.5 per week
