Retail District Manager

Queens/Brooklyn, NY

Job Purpose

This role will help the retail sales team achieve its volume and profit goals in healthy pet diets by supporting the Retail sales strategy and delivering account specific sales goals.

The District Manager develops customer specific business plans and cultivates customer

relationships in all Retail units within his/her territory including Petco, Petsmart,

and other chain, and/or Independent retail specialty stores. This role ensures that sales

Opportunities are being generated and that we are building high levels of advocacy in store with our brands.

Key Responsibilities

Achievement oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple clients in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Develop an understanding of customer needs by expanding basic product knowledge to enhance services. Assist Retail outlets in growing their business by identifying potential upsell opportunities.
Establish and grow relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer base
Collaborate across Royal Canin channels to help achieve an optimal customer experience
Ability to translate knowledge of our products, categories and customer data into business opportunities.
Execute the Retail sales strategy within assigned territory.
Prioritize key retail accounts within a territory and work with the Region Manager to develop an effective routing and call frequency strategy.
Develop and deliver compelling, data-driven sales presentations to retail decision makers.
Budget and reporting: Manage an expense and sales budget. Complete CRM call reports, expense reports and presentations in a timely and accurate manner.
Constantly strive to improve knowledge and abilities.

Job Specifications/Qualifications:
1. Education & Professional Qualification

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Business, Marketing, Veterinary Science or other relevant area is desirable or 8+ years of B2B sales experience

2. Knowledge/Experience

Proven experience and ability to analyze customer problems and trends to offer suggestions and recommendations for improvement and success required
Like experience in a customer focused, account management, revenue driven environment required
Minimum of 2 years business to business sales with a successful track record
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong PC skills
Ability to travel 40-60%
