We are seeking to hire a Recruiter with full-cycle recruiting experience, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to screening, hiring and helping on-board. Our ideal recruiter has strong attention to detail and enjoys working in a fast paced, startup environment with an unquenchable thirst to learn more and exceed customer expectations daily.

This position will create/manage job openings and provide leadership to sourcing strategy for Analytics Professional Development Program (APDP), coordinate Summer Analytics Internship Program and support year round student programs within the Data Innovation Lab, Champaign Simulation Center and Chicago Digital & Analytics Hub.

Responsibilities include using various channels to look for potential candidates, contacting passive candidates and building talent pipelines for future hiring needs. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities and stay abreast of current recruitment technology and trends with internal drive to continuously improve, learn, innovate and demonstrate courage to challenge status quo and bring forward innovative, customer focused solutions while maintaining Caterpillar’s Values of teamwork, integrity, commitment, excellence and sustainability.

Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications in partnership with Functional Area Recruitment Manager and Supervisors of Analytic Rotational Development Program.
Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media etc.
Screen candidates resumes and job applications
Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
Interacting with potential candidates on social media and professional networks (e.g. LinkedIn)
Crafting and sending recruiting emails
Coordinating with hiring managers to determine position requirements
Identify qualified candidate profiles using various sourcing techniques (e.g. Boolean search)
Develop talent pipelines for future hiring needs
Measure conversion rates, including numbers of passive candidates who turn into applicants, get invited to interviews, get offers and get hired
Promote our employer brand online and offline
Attend campus career fairs and related industry events to scout talent and build relationships with key university faculty, staff and other industry influencers
Maintain and ensure compliance with local recruitment policies & processes

Basic Qualifications:
Position requires a four year degree from an accredited college or university OR 5 plus years of job related experience.

3 plus years of work experience as a Recruiter (either an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter)

Intermediate hands-on experience (1-2 years of experience) with sourcing techniques (recruiting on social platforms)

Top candidates will also have:
Good understanding and ability to screen analytic candidate requirements such as proficiency in statistics packages such as R, SAS, and or Python, data visualization tools such as Tableau, as well as data manipulation and cleansing techniques.

Must have a high level of energy and flexibility and demands sufficient knowledge of applicant tracking systems and hiring practices related to compensation and benefits to resolve recruitment/human resources related questions.

Desire to mentor interns and develop future talent.

Experience managing on-line talent communities.

Ability to travel up to 25% of the year.

Comfort with new ideas and methods and capable of using past experiences to learn.

Organizational agility to understand where to go in the organization for support and resources.

Knowledge of Caterpillar's policies, products, and procedures.

Effective interpersonal skills including team leadership skills, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and strong organizational skills.

Ability to communicate with potential candidates on the phone – must enjoy being on the phone to screen candidates.

Experience with on-campus recruitment, including career fairs, student engagement activities and hosting informational sessions.

Intermediate hands-on experience (1-2 years of experience) with sourcing techniques (recruiting on social platforms)

Ideal candidates will have 3 plus years of technical recruiting.
