Position Summary:

With direct reporting responsibilities to the Accounting Supervisor, the Financial Analyst is responsible for working with the team to create, develop, produce and analyze all financial reporting for the company. In a general description, the responsibilities of the position include utilizing strong and growing excel skills to produce timely financial reports, analyze KPI’s to help the business make better decisions moving forward and continuously learn and grow in knowledge of the business to produce more effective reporting. Reports will include, but are not limited to, liquid and service gross profit, monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheets, service technician and delivery driver utilization and efficiency reports, product growth, year over year analysis, due diligence for new targets and customer related analysis. The Financial Analyst’s work will result in the creation of reports used by top management and the board of directors. The position will also assist the department in various other tasks associated with a growing company including accounting and cash management tasks.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Consistently high level of work product creation, utilizing company core values through:
  • Working with the Accounting Supervisor and CFO, to develop and produce effective internal reports
  • Identifying financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Guiding cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions
  • Reconciling transactions by comparing and correcting data
  • Increasing productivity by developing automated accounting applications
  • Insures effective and cooperative interaction with other team members through:
  • Shared ownership of team responsibilities, especially those that impact other employees
  • Work with the team, fulfills roles with the operational staff
  • Work with others, work on special projects as may be required
  • Assures financial results by:
  • Accurate and timely reporting
  • Analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management for change or improved performance
  • Insuring compliance with the company’s Confidentiality policy
  • Presents effective self-management through:
  • Continuously improving professional skills by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing professional networks

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working directly with financial reporting for companies
  • College level degree in an applicable degree program, preferably Finance
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of comfort working independently in managing priorities
  • Strong understanding and prior experience in cash flow statements, income statement and balance sheets
  • Strong sense of professionalism and ability to maintain discretion
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (prior experience with detailed spreadsheet development and analysis a must)
  • Must meet employment eligibility standards set for criminal and other background checks

The employee will primarily work in an office environment. Outside of the office environment, this employee is exposed to moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
