Position Summary

is seeking an

Associate Operations Support Analyst, Security Operations

to join Sony’s Global Information Security and Privacy organization located in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. This position will report to the

Senior Manager, Security Operations – Architecture & Deployment Team

, and be a part of the Security Operations team that will provide design, engineering, implementation and 24x7 support of the technology infrastructure that supports a global incident response team. The Security Operations team is a pivotal part of Sony’s program to secure its information assets, services, and the products that depend on them, building trust with customers and stakeholders and protecting the privacy of Sony’s customers


Job Responsibilities

Work closely with other members of the Architecture & Deployment team to plan, develop, and implement new security technologies around the globe

Collaborate with teams locally and around the globe to deploy security tools and troubleshoot connectivity issues

Evaluate and improve on operational process, procedure manuals, and documentation

Track and update management in a timely fashion on deployments, inventory, and other issues

Prepare documentation and equipment for shipment domestically and internationally and track shipments

Manage and track submission and implementation of firewall change requests around the globe

Support and maintain the global inventory management system

Research, evaluate, and recommend tools to support security systems

Serve as system owner for the OPS Team system monitoring tool and interfacing with the NOC to ensure appropriate playbooks are in place and work with other system owners to ensure systems are being monitored consistently

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, cyber security, information technology or related subject matter

Previous experience through work or internship required within the following areas: information security, network operations, or system administration with a significant security element

Solid working knowledge of networking technology and protocols

Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to emergencies, organize and schedule work effectively

Demonstrate strong analytical skills, initiative, and ability to work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines

Proficiency with at least one scripting language, i.e., Python, PHP, Java Script

Prior experience or familiarity with Nagios, OpsView, SNMP, and methods and techniques for system health monitoring

Experience with project management software preferred

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to effectively communicate in a professional environment with executive level and junior personnel

Ability to work and make objective decisions independently

Due to the global nature of Sony, this position will require occasional work and attending meetings/conference calls off normal business hours, in addition to working defined core hours. Occasional on-call work required

This position requires some occasional lifting of security appliances and inventory, as well as kneeling, squatting, walking in data centers, and similar physical activity
