Job Description

This position will assist the Manager of the Structured Transactions team in helping to drive sales results for Vistra Energy’s Business Markets Sales organization while also mitigating potential risks to the P&L. As part of this team, the Analyst IV has responsibility for providing support in the areas of deal approvals, product expertise, contract negotiations, and solution around complex customer issues. The position is also responsible for educating stakeholders and customers about electricity market conditions and interacting closely with leadership on performance analysis and competitive intelligence.

Develop proposals for deals involving electric, gas, and/or energy related services
Secure approvals from senior management team for transactions requiring DOA
Identify, monitor, and provide support to marketers and developers when their activities involve market risk
Analyze and disaggregate retail transactions into the appropriate risk instruments and components
Create and negotiate contract language with support from legal, credit, and contract admin teams
Develop competitive intelligence reporting and present findings to senior leadership, sales leadership, etc.
Provide input and recommendations around margin framework for retail transactions
Train on new products, internal processes, system changes, market fundamentals, regulatory updates, etc.
Provide leadership and internal coordination for development of new product opportunities
Identify and support improvements around business processes impacting organizational efficiency
Monitor day-to-day issues to ensure business policies and procedures are adhered to in an effective manner
Define reporting needs and work with strategic partners to develop necessary reporting tools
Integrate and manage data from various systems including SAP, SalesForce, Lodestar, and others
Coordinate execution and implementation of new business and/or regulatory requirements
Resolve reported issues in a timely and decisive manner, or escalate as appropriate
Analyze large amounts of data to help drive customer insights and improved customer experiences
Access the operational viability of new business proposals and prioritize accordingly
Maintain ongoing dialogue with internal work-groups to ensure alignment with business initiatives
Challenge conventional views to better align decision making/perceptions with changing business needs
Apply variety of analytical insights to complicated processes for modeling, forecasting, profiling, etc.
Develop and present regular and timely reports

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field strongly preferred
MBA or other related advanced degree beneficial
3+ years of experience conducting financial analysis, risk analysis, or sales pricing analysis
2+ years of project management experience involving coordination among multiple stakeholders/departments
Previous experience structuring complex pricing "deals/contracts" with large commercial customers is preferred
Previous experience and/or knowledge of the electricity industry and wholesale power markets including PJM, MISO, ERCOT, NYISO, and/or ISO-NE is preferred
Responsible for leading cross-functional work teams with the goal to greatly improve work processes related to Vistra Energy’s customer retention and growth across its various retail brands.
Seeks minimal guidance/works under minimal supervision from Team Leads, Management, SME’s, etc.
Excellent negotiating, consensus building and conflict resolution skills
Extensive communication and teamwork skills with both internal and external customers
Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
Able to effectively contribute to and lead small work groups, process team and focus groups
Advanced Skill in using computer software applications such as MS Office products
Able to solve problems guided only by general organization objectives, policies, and goals
Strong analytical skills, including root cause analysis
Working knowledge of Internet and related emerging technologies used to effectively aggregate/analyze critical business data
Excellent Project Management skills
