Covenant Health is seeking an Full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Business Services at Grace Clinic of Lubbock.
Administers nursing care to patients within an assigned unit. Supervises non-licensed nursing personnel. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Demonstrates the abiltiy to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences in applying the nursing process.
Demonstrates knowledge and competency in performing baseline nursing skills. Maintains clinical competencies according to departmental standards.
Under supervision of the RN, identifies information necessary to plan and administer care.
Identifies and determines priority of the patients needs/problems, anticipates emergencies, complications of pathology, and assists others in implementing complex care.
Administers all medications and treatments according to hospital policy and procedure, accepted standards of care, and unit guidelines.
Communicates effectively with the RN, patients, families, and physicians. Documenting patient status, patient needs/problems, nursing intervention/patient response, safety interventions, and education/teaching.
Assists the RN in the development of a plan of care that includes discharge planning, realistic and measureable goals, and appropriate nursing interventions to produce desired outcomes with the patients.
Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to JCAHO and other regulatory requirements. Reports untoward incidents per hospital policy.
Maintains a committed and cooperative attitude with staffing, promoting teamwork and harmony by readily assisting other staff and patients without being asked to do so.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited licensed vocational school of nursing
License / Certification: Current Texas L.V.N. license required.
Must achieve BLS Certification (AHA) within thirty (30) days of employment date.
