Organizational Unit

The University Controller's Office is a System-wide function which is led by the Associate Vice President/Controller and has approximately 150 employees. The UCO consists of Financial Reporting & Accounting (General Accounting, Financial Systems, Reporting, Research Cash Management, Asset Management); Payment Services (Accounts Payable, Travel); Purchasing Services (Purchasing, PCard, Central Receiving); Student Financial Services (Cashier's Office, Student Accounting & Customer Service, Accounts Receivable); Payroll and Tax Services and the Office of Supplier Diversity. The UCO's mission is to safeguard institutional resources and provide accounting and operational support to the USF System while ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and regulatory financial guidelines.

Position Summary

This position performs accounting and administrative duties to support the work of Student Financial Services using the OASIS student system. This position will do in-depth account analysis, identify and prepare any adjustment requests required on the student account. This position will be responsible for processing write-offs within the OASIS student system.

DUTIES:
Processing of write offs for all designated Accounts Receivable tuition accounts. Releasing administrative holds on all write off accounts. Monitoring delinquent Accounts Receivable delinquent tuition accounts. Monitory accounts for bad addresses and updating new addresses when possible.

Packaging, distributing, mailing and collecting loan paperwork for new and returning borrowers. Mailing out first, second, and third past due notices on all loan accounts. Mailing out pre-collection letters on all past due Accounts Receivable tuition accounts. Copying, mailing, and filing paid in full loans.

Collecting and digitally archiving/scanning and indexing all loan paper work. Documenting and indexing billing corrections into the university operating systems.

Perform other administrative accounting duties as required to support the goals of the Customer Service Unit within Student Financial Services.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM

This position requires a High School diploma and four years of related experience in an accounting function. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training

PREFERRED:
Prefer previous customer service experience in a university setting. Experience with Banner.
