JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Solutions Architect plays a key role in the development of solutions that contribute to the growth and advancement of Enterprise Information Management and the Unified Data Architecture (UDA). The UDA can include an enterprise data warehouse, big data platforms, BI and analytic tools, knowledge management resources, and an Enterprise Analytics center of excellence. The Data Solutions Architect will learn and help continuously improve and enforce our policies and procedures to ensure the mission and vision of the EIM team is met. The scope of these P&P will include development, data management, data governance, and PMO functions as you follow a software development lifecycle (SDLC) to build out a Unified Data Architecture and enterprise analytic solutions. The Data Solutions Architect takes a hands-on role in development and data management functions and will ensure high-quality development practices are followed and business needs are met on time, within budget. The Data Solutions Architect will design, build, and implement various components of the UDA including data models, semantic layers and metadata views, data manipulation and transformation packages, visualization/reporting applications, and other software/hardware that impacts the services the EIM team provides. The Data Solutions Architect has a deep technical understanding of at least one major RDBMS platform.

SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:
Performs tasks related to BI tool security administration, performance tuning, automation of administrative processes, issue remediation, and change management of analytics across BI tool environments.

Provides end user support to users in various departments across the Enterprise.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates an aptitude and understanding to plan, develop, validate, interpret, produce, and maintain complex analyses that can rely on data from multiple sources and the use of sophisticated analytic tools.

Demonstrates an understanding of process control, data quality, data accuracy and report reproducibility, specifically through the use of objective quality checks and performance measures.

Demonstrates a/an understanding of healthcare industry data and processes spanning all areas of the enterprise including clinical, revenue cycle, operational, financial, and health plan lines of business.

Demonstrates a developing ability to understand business needs and translate them into business requirements that can be met through technology/data warehousing/analytic development.

Demonstrates an understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts and the skills necessary to manipulate and merge data and files for analysis, research and presentation.

Demonstrates an understanding of the tools and techniques necessary to extract, transform, load, and otherwise manipulate data to meet the needs of the organization.

Demonstrates the ability to programmatically manipulate data (full application, code snippets, or using SDK (software developer kit) is strongly desired

Demonstrates strong working knowledge of at least one major RDBMS platform and operating system

Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Business Objects Enterprise 4.x tool suite including but not limited to Universe Design Tool, Design Studio, Web Intelligence, Lumira, and Explorer.

Demonstrates strong knowledge of SQL programming language, SQL-based reporting, or BI tools such as BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports, Altosoft, Xcelsius, QlikView, etc. or statistical analysis tools such as SAS, R, SPSS, etc.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of one or more of the following areas: Hadoop, Hive, Yarn, Flume, Storm, Sqoop, MapReduce etc.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of NoSQL databases and/or data models (e.g., Cassandra, Graph databases, ontologies, semantic frameworks), related data security and privacy (privacy-preserving data mining, data security, and utilization of algorithms for data integration/capture.

Demonstrates a deep and consistent focus on exceptional customer service both to internal and external customers.

Demonstrates strong facilitation and project management oversight skills. Demonstrates a strong willingness to understand the EIM Software Development Lifecycle including the creation of key deliverables such as scopes, functional requirements, etc.

Demonstrates developing interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Demonstrates willingness to mentor both hard and soft skills to other highly educated analysts.

Demonstrates an understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts and the skills necessary to manipulate and merge data and files for analysis, research and presentation.

Demonstrates strong working knowledge of at least one major RDBMS platform and operating system

Demonstrates ability to design and develop complex reporting applications.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of the health care industry and stay immersed and up-to-date of major trends in the sector.

Demonstrates strong mathematical, statistical, financial, and organizational skills.

Demonstrates the ability to work independently, problem-solve, and make decisions.

Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and to interface with all levels of staff/management within and beyond the organization.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Biostatistics (or related), Business, Epidemiology, Industrial Engineering or other relevant analytical/data field required.

Advanced degree (MS, MBA, MPH, MHA, MSN, PhD, etc.) preferred.

Minimum of four years healthcare information reporting, data analysis (reporting/dashboarding) or informatics experience required.

Minimum of four years of non-healthcare industry data warehousing, data analysis (reporting/dashboarding) or informatics experience may substitute for the above healthcare experience requirement.

Technical Experience:
Detailed working knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and analytic tools such as BusinessObjects, Altosoft, SAS, R, Crystal Reports, Xcelsius, Tableau, QlikView, MModal preferred. Experience with Hadoop, Hive, HBase, and NoSQL databases. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft, Teradata or experience with health care applications including EPIC, TSI, IDX, SMS, AMISYS, CoPath, etc. preferred. Experience or certification in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) or advanced training/education preferred.

Minimum of four years of experience with BI developer and administration toolsets required. Experience working in an Information Technology environment with participation in a Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse report application project.

Minimum of two years of hands-on work experience in all aspects of BI development lifecycle, including scoping, requirements gathering, data quality analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment. Can include applications, ETL processes, dashboards, analytics, and performance management reports.

Minimum of four years demonstrated experience with EHR, healthcare billing or claims-based applications/data in a complex health care environment preferred. Strongly prefer exposure to health care industry regulations, revenue- cycle, best practices, quality and safety.

Prefer four years of experience in clinical healthcare operations required including demonstrated experience in performance improvement, business process redesign, and Lean or Six Sigma projects.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment with occasional travel to different buildings. Mostly sedentary work interacting with computers and people. Requires ability to perform visual inspection and lifting less than 10 pounds
