The successful candidate for our Colleague Business Analyst will add value by providing expertise and guidance – both functional and technical - for the enterprise applications at the institution. This role reports to the CIO, providing high-quality end-user consultation and support for functional area business processes and system usage across the institution. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong initiative and personal accountability, have a superior work ethic, show exceptional attention to detail and possess the intrinsic desire to be an agent of positive change. This team member needs to be a true champion for customer service, process optimization and best practice methodology who is well versed in a variety of functional areas and ready to get some serious work done!
This team member will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
Functional User Support
Works closely with other OIT team members, Ellucian remote resources and Action Line to effectively and efficiently address end user requests related to Colleague and other administrative systems.
Provides support for customizations to components, screen layouts, forms, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, etc for the Colleague ERP and other administrative applications in alignment with best practices.
Writes and maintains documentation to describe logic, syntax, testing, changes, corrections, and operational procedures for any customizations.
Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, and outputs for the Colleague ERP and other supported administrative systems.
Effectively manages scope and customer expectations on individual assignments.
Effectively manages incoming requests and support tickets related to the administrative systems
Creates a variety of data reports and dashboards in collaboration with the client data stewards, consumers, leadership, and Institutional research staff in support of client strategy.
Assists in troubleshooting for the Colleague ERP and other supported administrative systems.
Performs research, reaches out to colleagues, and finds solutions for problems or questions that require the extra effort.
End User Training
Provides expert guidance to client users in the use of the Colleague ERP including core, student, finance, financial aid modules
Develops and delivers training sessions and group workshops on topics related to Colleague functionality and best practices
Regularly produces campus email communications, tech tips, SharePoint site content, and newsletters to alert, inform and educate client users.
Creates and maintains user guides, process documentation, tutorials and support materials to be leveraged by functional users.
Operations and Projects
Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of relevant projects with a variety of technology staff and client end user constituencies effectively.
Takes personal ownership of all assigned project deliverables, milestones and tasks.
Coordinates to ensure that schedules, project duties, individual responsibilities, and other work activities are properly aligned and all projects stay on schedule and within budget parameters.
Prepares and delivers status reports to keep the team and CIO informed of project status and related issues.
Coordinates and responds to requests for any changes from original specifications, adhering to all change management procedures
Monitors project results against technical specifications.
Develops and maintains technical and project documentation.
Develops quality assurance test plans and coordinates testing.
Takes part in institutional committees and IT governance and will assist with all policy and standards development.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree, or other advanced degree from an accredited college or university; Masters preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in a higher education industry enterprise applications environment (Banner, Colleague, etc.) to include financial, student, admissions and alumni information systems.
Higher Education background and knowledge with 6 years or more of related experience desired.
Experience providing functional or technical support for Ellucian’s Colleague ERP.
Experience with Colleague Studio is a must.
Experience with SQL coding and strong ability to read, analyze and translate between query languages
Experience in the use of 3rd party reporting tools such as Microsoft SSRS, Synoptix, MS Access, Argos, Tableau, or Informer in a Colleague database environment.
Broad-based, in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in various functional areas or disciplines within higher education.
Willingness to attend training / skills development as needed to be proficient in the role

Must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Experience with a variety of administrative systems including Ellucian CRM Recruit, Pharo360, Smart Catalog, Synoptix, O365, Perceptive Content, Raiser’s Edge, Pyramed, Titanium, Moodle or other higher Education systems is a major plus.
