Purpose of Job
As an Event Sales Coordinator for Élan Flowers you must be an event professional who is passionate about flowers. You will be a key representative of our elegant brand. You will assist clients and coordinate with Élan staff, venues, and outside vendors to ensure that all aspects of event sales are completed to the client’s satisfaction. You will balance tasks in a busy environment and help designers and support staff to give the bespoke service that our upscale clients expect.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Take proactive measures to manage and grow/cultivate both new & old client relationships by negotiating and managing client expectations & satisfaction
- Manage & oversee inquiries, coordination, and logistics of events orders
- Represent Elan Flowers within industry organizations and at networking opportunities
- Work with marketing lead to create marketing plans & timelines which include emails, partnerships, promotions & more
- Listen to clients earnestly in order to understand their event needs and desired aesthetics while encouraging a floral vision aligned with Elan’s brand, and exceed client’s expectations
- Schedule site & design meetings (in person and over the phone) necessary for events
- Source materials and supplies for event elements as needed; sustain high quality design aesthetic alongside budget management
- Coordinate with venues and vendors in order to provide highest quality service for clients
- Draft floral design proposals with detailed pricing and options to clients; Actively participate in sales meetings and presentations to promote Elan's designs and services
- Lead setup and installation of event elements on-site at NYC venues as needed
- Manage & process final invoicing for event clients and work with Elan’s accountant to align payments from clients and to vendors
- Collect and present feedback for event debriefings along with cataloging photos and notes
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in event sales in the floral industry
- Thorough knowledge of florals as relates to enhancing events & eagerness to learn Elan’s style and brand
- This position does NOT perform floral design, but prior experience is advantageous
- Outstanding customer service skills and effectively communicate with kindness, confidence, and respect even during periods of high stress and sensitivity
- Proficient in Google and Microsoft software applications; capable of learning and utilizing proprietary POS/CRM software and navigating multiple software platforms simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balance rapidly-shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and multitasking
- Physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods, and moderate lifting
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with a graphic design platform tool such as Canva or Photoshop
Working Conditions and Compensation
- Elan Flowers is located at 1 Worth Street, but requires travel for site visits, consultations, installations, and strikes
- Flexible schedule of ~40 hours/week, including expected overtime during Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, & Labor Day weeks; nights and weekends may be required as determined by event details
