What you’ll be doing...
As the Verizon Business Global (VBG) Commercial Operations Trade Show and events Manager you will be responsible for, but not limited to, managing Tier 2 and some Tier 3 trade show events, vendor conferences, customer seminars and user forums by increasing customer and revenue growth, and improving the overall customer experience. This position requires a high level of organization, project management and the capability to communicate to all levels of leadership. This includes strategy, project management and collaboration with Business Marketing and Business Markets & Products.
Research, recommend, plan, organize, and administer VBG’s Tier 2 and select Tier 3 Business Unit trade shows, vendor conferences, customer seminars, user forums, etc.
Manage activities of trade show/event key contributors through formalized evaluation of progress and results regarding their activities and goal attainment.
Drive Verizon's customer event and trade show strategy, including but not limited to: identifying key events, internal team training for attendees, maintain pre- and post-show communication, and event attendance.
Oversee dedicated project management tracking and lead the core workgroup weekly planning meetings and multiple sub-core workgroup ad-hoc meetings; planning cycles normally involves 4-6 months. These core workgroups are critical to successful implementation of trade show participation.
Position had broad guidance and is accountable for functional areas of broad program results.
Decision making authority to drive autonomy through respective customer segments, digital/social engagement as well as key executive stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution of customer events are achieved.
Negotiate and execute contracts for large events Create and evaluate opportunities for co-marketing efforts with partners and vendors to ensure support, partnerships and execution of product portfolios are achieved.
Management of all project elements within time limits and on budget.
Manage on-site install and dismantle of custom built exhibits, requiring decision making throughout the process due to foreseen and unforeseen situations. As move in dates are tight and delays impact the entire process, position is empowered with final decision making authority in these situations.
Direct staff management accountabilities and lead large project team that can be up to or exceeding 75 people from internal business units and external support vendors/partners depending on size and complexity of event.
Provide technical and/or analytical support to solve a wide range of complex issues/problems. Makes recommendations that aid in the successful completion of projects within a product or functional area; works with limited supervision.
Recommend and confirm senior level attendance at events including briefing documentation, logistics and personalized onsite agenda.
This position can be located in any validVerizon locations or work remotely within a reasonable commute distance to a valid Verizon location.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Reporting, analysis and strategic planning experience.
Ability to travel
Experience with Microsoft Office, SFDC, Goggle applications and sharing tools.
Even better if you have:
Relevant experience in telecommunications or other service industry.
Has or working towards obtaining a Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) designation.
Sales operations, sales training and/or sales management experience.
Ability to manage highly complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work under tight deadline, on multiple assignments, with strong attention to detail.
Proven success in planning and execution.
Experience with Cvent tool.
Ability to be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on teams.
Ability to partner with various functional teams in support of key initiatives.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate to all levels of leadership.
