This position is responsible for the Global Hardware Engineering Discipline organization which is in charge to define processes and assign resources to the project teams for the Mechanical (ME) and Electrical (HW) development of the complete ADAS products portfolio.
The discipline organization also include core competencies teams related to the discipline (eg. Thermal management, Simulation, High speed design, EMC/EMI, etc.) and product specific core competencies (eg. Radar/Lidar Optics, Radar RF front-end, etc.).
This position is also responsible for the laboratory organization, resources and tools.
The main discipline organization responsibilities can be summarized in:
Budget definition, footprint strategy, resource allocation, hiring and training.
ME and HW development processes definition and maintenance.
ME and HW development planning and execution:
Plan, manage and drive on time delivery of work-products as for defined processes.
Support DFx reviews leading findings resolution and implementation.
Interface suppliers and component team
Manage hardware issue/risk/change management.
ME and HW verification planning and execution:
Define, plan and ensure on time execution of Hardware testing in accord with overall project test strategy reviewing results and driving corrective actions following the defined CM process.
ME and HW release as for C40 process and Project milestones.
ME and HW prototype build, GPA and functional verification (eg. HW bring-up), external supplier coordination.
Monitor the BOM cost and define corrective actions to reach defined target jointly with the Project team and Purchasing.
This position is responsible for building up and run a suited global organization to serve the above-mentioned objectives. The group is responsible for all aspects of hardware developments (including people, process and line management) and to provide technical expertise to the hardware areas relating to Active Safety Engineering.
Successfully completed Degree in Engineering, ideally with an Electronics background. Master is a plus
As Chief Engineer Active Safety you hold the ability to understand customer requirements and HW/SW architectures
Very good knowledge of analysis tools as well as very good analytical and documentation skills
Excellent knowledge of the English language (verbal and written) are required for this role, German language is a plus
