Our Non-Destructive Testing Division is poised for growth, and we are seeking a NDT Supervisor to provide technical expertise, staff leadership, and business development in the Rapid City area. The ideal candidate will have five years of NDT experience, supervisory experience, be a CWI (or have capability to achieve certification shortly after starting with us,) and be driven to deliver outstanding service to current and prospective clients. Industries served include structural steel, manufacturing, machining, power generation, and petro-chemical. Â Â The NDT Supervisor will have a key role in developing the expertise and efficiency of the NDT department in our western region. Â
AET provides geotechnical, environmental, materials and forensics consulting and testing services to public and private sector clients in a broad spectrum of industries. Â We have built our reputation on experience, quality, and fulfilling client requirements in a cost effective and timely manner. The services provided by the NDT Department are performed to the standards of industry including AWS, ASME, ASTM, API, AISC, and UBC as well as state laws governing professional services. All services will be performed in accordance with ASTâs QA/QC procedures. Â
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicate with clients to determine project needs.
Assist in training NDT technicians for laboratory and field inspections.
Perform surveillance audits of NDT staff as outlined in the ACS QAP for field and lab personnel.
Schedule and coordinate field and laboratory testing to meet project requirements.
Assist in preparation of proposals, formal reports, and invoices.
Develop and maintain business contacts.
Assist in the promotion and marketing of AET and the NDT department.
Perform other related duties as required to meet departmental and company goals.

Conduct field, laboratory and office activities in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and AETâs Health and Safety Policy, and that promotes the safety and protection of employees, clients and the public.
Maintain valid driverâs license and acceptable driving record. Â Some positions may require use of personal vehicle for company business. Â Maintain compliance with DOT driver regulations if required for position.
Frequent travel required within regional area.
Occasional out-of-town travel.
Work irregular hours as needed, occasionally for an extended length of time.Â
Properly use and maintain company instruments and equipment.
Maintain appropriate physicals.
Maintain the quality of service and work product.
Coordinate with other AET staff with the ultimate goal of increasing efficiency, productivity and communication.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two year degree in nondestructive testing.
Minimum of five years of NDT experience.Â
AWS CWI Certification.
IRRSP or equivalent certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESÂ
Excellent communication skills including the ability to present ideas to large groups in a clear and compelling manner.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, work effectively within project teams, resolve issues and problems in a constructive manner, and work independently in the field.
Capable of the physical labor required, with personal protective equipment.
Ability to: Occasionally move 50-70 pounds. Stand up to 80% of the day (often on uneven surfaces). Move up to 80% of the day, with frequent climbing, bending and stooping. Occasionally work in confined spaces. Occasionally work at elevations up to 200 feet, using proper safety equipment as necessary.
Skill in using personal computer software, such as Microsoft Office.
