Position Overview

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist has responsibility for supporting our efforts to implement strategies that deliver a culture that promotes a safety mindset. Reporting to the Senior EHS Manager, the EHS Specialist will provide support on daily EHS tasks and program management and may be assigned projects to manage and complete that support EHS initiatives. This key position will utilize a positive can-do attitude, strong time management, the ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail to achieve success in the role.

- Promote Safety as the number one priority of all Lucas employees.
- Drive a safety mindset by developing relationships with our employees and encouraging safe behaviors and an awareness of safe work practices.
- Ensure compliance with company EHS program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.
- Help identify and eliminate risks related to all jobs, our work environment and equipment utilized.
- Work to build out components of our Safety program, developing training, processes and policies related to these tools to ensure sustainability.
- Participate actively in team meetings and program development discussions.
- Support effective accident and injury investigation and follow up, OSHA compliance, and emergency response preparedness.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree required, preferably in EHS related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to access all areas of our work environment and to utilize all tools and equipment required to complete job.
- Working knowledge of environmental, health and safety matters as they pertain to a business (experience with Manufacturing preferred).
- Passion for working with people and building relationships.
- Self-starter and idea generator.
- Desire to learn and contribute.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while executing against timelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

This position is based on site at our facilities in Cudahy, Wisconsin. It is a manufacturing company, and the EHS Specialist will work with a diverse population in both office and production settings. The position requires the use of personal protective equipment (eye protection, hearing protection and steel toe shoes provided by the company).
