We are currently seeking an Life Enrichment/Activity Director to join our team.
Assures compliance with State regulations and company policy and procedures in the conduct of the activity program for residents.
Plans and prepare monthly activity calendar and newsletter.
Plans and decorates monthly activity board in compliance with company requirements.
Conducts and assures that all planned activities occur as scheduled.
Assures maximum possible attendance at all activities.
Assures one-on-one activity with residents who do not participate in large group or small group activities.
Maintains attendance documentation of residents at daily activities. Maintains documentation of residents receiving one-on-one activity. NOTE: This requirement is applicable to residents residing in memory support communities or memory support portions of communities.
In conjunction with Executive Director, plans staff morale building activities, e.g., theme days, etc.
Secures activity supplies and entertainers and assures those expenses remain within budget.
Develops and maintains volunteer participation in community activities.
If activities are conducted outside the community, the Activity Director is responsible for planning, securing transportation, securing volunteers, working with Executive Director and Resident Care Director in securing staff, and accompanying residents in any out-of-facility activity, assuring that residents are always accounted for.
In conjunction with Executive Director, Community Relations Director, and other department heads, assists planning and conducting family and marketing events.
Conducts initial interview of Activity Assistant applicants.
Assures that all Activity Assistants are properly trained.
Assures there is coverage for weekend activities and that weekend activities are conducted.
Is available to cover activities in the absence of Activity Assistant.
Monitors performance of Activity Assistants. Counseling of Activity Assistants is performed in conjunction with Executive Director.
Maintains activity areas, including common areas, in organized, uncluttered, appropriately decorated manner.
Maintains CEUs as necessary for any accreditation required by State.
Attend all scheduled and unscheduled in services and meetings as requested by Executive Director.
Is responsible for complying with being on-call and serving as Manager o duty as directed by the Executive Director.
Conducts all tasks in a safe, workmanlike manner.
Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Preference may be given to candidate with previous experience as Activity Director or Activity Assistant in a long-term care setting. Experiences in assisted living and/or memory care preferred.
Must meet State Requirements for Activity Director. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry 40 pounds. Ability to move about building quickly to assist residents in the event of an emergency. Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record. Ability to drive facility van is preferred.
