About the Position
We have an excellent opportunity available for a Procurement Professional to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. You’ll be reporting into the Lead- External Manufacturing NA Procurement and interact closely with the cross functional Business Unit teams and Global External Manufacturing Team.
Responsible for over $100-$200 MM USD of spend for Kraft Heinz within the US Zone
You will be in charge of sourcing of Finished Goods from a dynamic network of External Manufacturers- in line with the business and operations strategy and ensuring consistency and compliance with global and zone procurement policy and standards.
Identify and assess potential new external manufacturing partners for business viability including financial- quality- and product manufacturing feasibility
Ensure that External Manufacturing partners are driving innovation initiatives to ensure short term business deliverables as well as long-term innovation pipeline in support of the respective category growth- capacity and capability needs.
Partner with internal procurement teams and cross functional stakeholders to develop a long term category strategy for the assigned portfolio / platform.
Execute the strategic sourcing process including market and industry analysis- supplier research and review- category and supplier segmentation- sourcing events- analysis- negotiations- contracting and implementation. Identify alternative EMs for ongoing business support.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers ensuring the most optimal terms and conditions without compromising service or quality while closely partnering with internal Legal team. Lead internal contracts approvals process within Kraft Heinz leadership team and defend contract terms and strategy as needed.
Establish trust and build effective business relationships with suppliers for short and long-term partnership. Facilitate the EM Collaboration program with the assigned set of suppliers.
Conduct supplier performance monitoring via internal KPI dashboards and quarterly business reviews and ensure KPIs on service levels- cost targets- FSQ goals / quality roadmap are achieved.
Become category expert in understanding what drives the manufacturing costs. Deliver specific productivity and cash flow targets in alignment with the goals- with a focus on total cost of ownership. Identify and develop future cost savings and value engineering opportunities- productivity project pipeline- in partnership with external manufacturers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business- Operations- or Supply Chain. Masters degree preferred.
Min 7 years of work experience in Procurement (eg. EM- Indirect- Capex- Ingredients- Packaging) and Operations related roles. Project management experience is also desired.
History of setting and over-delivering against clear goals
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with other driven stakeholders
Strong analytically and have no issue working with complex financial data
Strong negotiation and business relationship management skills. Understanding of the components of a legal agreement and have reviewed and negotiated commercial terms in a prior role
Demonstrated the ability to manage cross functional projects with varying levels of complexity
Strong written- verbal communication and listening skills
Preferable to have demonstrated knowledge or experience in food or beverage manufacturing process
Effective at establishing trust and building effective business relationships and getting things done through others.
Organizational Agility – knows how to get things done both through formal and informal channels.
Priority Setting – Spends his/ her time and the time of others on what’s most important. Eliminates roadblocks and creates focus.
