This position is responsible for the operation, management and problem-solving efforts in a team environment for the processing of dairy products. Responsibilities include maintaining the plant in accordance with Food Safety guidelines; forming boxes for packaging final product; maintaining warehouse by company and food safe standards; operate pallet jacks; manufacture, maintain, and process bulk culture; and conduct ultrafiltration and evaporation system.
Over the course of a 12-hour shift, this position is responsible for:
- Forming packaging and packaging final product
- Warehousing
- Sanitation
- Operating power industrial lifts including pallet jacks, forklifts, and tugs
- Processing milk through ultrafiltration and evaporation systems
- Mixing and producing bulk culture products
- Rework out of spec product using a Breddo system.
In addition, the Operator must work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP (process controls points) and CCP (critical control points) checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting the Production Supervisor or Manager. Be able to identify and understand customer requirements and assist in assuring proper operation and product. Record accurate data on production reports. Utilize Process Excellence tools to improve plant performance and complete specific projects as directed by Department Team Leaders. Continuously work to improve productivity, reduce raw material waste, and increase product quality. Work to improve unsafe and unsanitary conditions throughout the plant.
Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate must read and understand written SOP’s (currently only available in English) and follow standards. Must have at least one year experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Requirements:
The successful candidate is preferred to have at least one year experience in a food manufacturing environment, Process Control (PC) experience, demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to work well on a team and effective verbal and written skills.
Shift:
The PRIMARY shift will be a NIGHT position (6pm to 6am) that typically provides 12 hour shift coverage during a 36/48 hour work week (which embeds 8 hours of over-time each check). At Schreiber Tempe , our culture is to typically run a voluntary production overtime operation where partners can sign up for additional time when/if needed. Since the facility is a 365 day per year operation, candidates will be expected to work nights, weekends, and holidays in order to support production plant needs.
