Position: Event Coordinator
Summary: St. Joseph’s University, New York is seeking a Full-Time Event Coordinator to assist the
Conference and Event Service Office with internal and external events that occur within University
facilities. This position is open on both our Brooklyn and Patchogue, Long Island campus.
Responsibilities for this position include but not limited to:
● Providing event supervision for various campus conferences, meetings and events and acting
quickly to resolve issues as they may arise
● Responding to facility rental inquiries
● Conducting facility tours
● Assist clients (both internal and external) with planning and management of events
● Manage all event set-up, take down, and follow-up processes
● Liaise with internal service providers to assist with coordinating applicable resources (i.e.
● security, parking, tables, chairs, A/V, food, etc.) needed for events
● Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external clients.
● Review existing policy and procedures and recommend processes for improvement
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● Proficiency with AD Astra Scheduling System, Microsoft Suite, Google Documents
● Experience with Audio Visual, Lighting, Sound and Stage systems
● Ability to anticipate and resolve issues with high level customer service response
● Experience working with diverse populations, non-traditional spaces and in inclement weather
● Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs
● Ability to work evenings/weekends necessary
● Travel between campuses on occasion may be necessary
● Completion of at least a High School Degree
