Overall responsibility

This position will be responsible for the preparation and processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll in the U.S. Issues and distributes paychecks, managing direct deposits, benefits withholding, payroll deductions, garnishments and levies, flexible spending accounts, federal and state payroll tax deposits and returns, federal payroll summaries, W-2s, and wage and hour law compliance. The candidate must be diligent and self-motivated with attention to detail.

Key areas of responsibility

Processes payroll for the salary and biweekly U.S. payroll for multiple pay codes and in a multistate organization
Process payroll accurately and on time
Properly maintain payroll files
Prepare payments, taxes, and payroll deduction; calculate overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, and bonus payments
File tax registrations for SUI
Calculate and process manual checks as required
Conduct quarterly and annual payroll audits
Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; coach managers if needed
Resolve payroll inquiries from employees
Reconcile any payroll errors as they occur
Track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
Handle the administration of Time and Attendance, validate employee's charges, and adherence to FLSA
Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
Assist with governmental reporting/compliance
Maintain knowledge in federal, state and local payroll administration laws
Participate in various job duties/responsibilities and special projects as directed or determined on own initiative
Oversee continuous improvement for all payroll processes
Coordinate all year end payroll activities
Generate & submit ESPP Monthly Reports, Vacation Accrual Reports, Total Hour Reports, and GL Reports to Accounting Manager
Responsible for checking daily equity edge reports for employee withdrawals
Process manual payroll runs for any individual exercising stock options
Process any irregular payrolls (Bonus payments, equity payments, area gradient payments, etc.)
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or certification a plus
ADP Workforce Now Experience, required
5 plus years of experience
General HR knowledge of labor practices pertaining to payday law and payroll administration
Understanding and executing multistate taxation, required
Experience and understanding of SOX compliance
Experience with Oracle, preferred
Experience with Concur expense reporting a plus
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (advanced in Excel)
Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and attention to detail
Maintain confidentiality
